17.01.2022 Dearest friends of Samson, Our apologies for taking so long to tell you, our most precious and darling boy left us suddenly and unexpectedly on February 6th. It was/is difficult to accept, let alone write, to let you know. We came home to find him passed, he looked like he was sleeping but he was no longer with us. We had only left he and Dozer 3 hours earlier and he was happily sitting with his brother. We have been shattered ever since. The second most difficult day was col...lecting his ashes. How can it be? He was our heart dog. He was enormous, yes, and that is what attracted so many... but to us, it was how he accepted everyone who approached him, pat him and hugged him that was more amazing to us. He had an enormously open heart. He treated all as he treated us... with love and pure acceptance. We’ve tried to make sense of his premature passing, and what we came up with is, he chose us to teach us how to be better humans. I battle with myself for being less than I know I can be, and thinking of Samson does remind me to keep working at it. Love. Pure Love. That’s what he was. That’s what he is. We are so grateful for everyone of you who approached us to say hello to Samson. We loved that you loved him, and happy that he gave you joy and made you smile. If anyone happens to have a photo of Samson, we would absolutely be forever grateful if you could post it in the comment section. Thank you Our pets are never with us long and we were conscious of that, so we squished Samson with love and hugs often. Looking back, I still don’t think it was enough. Moments are so precious, please savour your moments xxxxx
