25.01.2022 Long hot shower with my baby lovebird Squeak late last night and bed. Took my dogs on their promised walk this morning then to kilcoy to do a minding visit and get prawns. Got busted by customers in my "incognito" car!! Damnit! Back home for a truckload of dirt for our agility arena (need a bobcat now... anyone?). Off to northlakes for a massage and tiny bit of last minute shopping. Bought the cat I'm looking after at home with broken pelvis a new soft comfy bed. No presents or xmas tree for us this year, haven't had any time. Fresh bread and iced coffee for lunch and now heading home for a nap. Already falling asleep. Minding visits again this arvo and mowing and whippersnipping while Leanne is at work. Might actually be awake to watch TV tonight. Oh and I better start on next year schedule too...

23.01.2022 DOUBLE COATED / LONG HAIR DOGS With the warmer weather hitting us in full swing, please keep in mind that dogs with long fur & double coats require maintenance and brushing! Take a look at the below diagrams, and bold the phrase 'Primary Guard Hair' meaning their top coat. ... The Primary Guard hair works as insulation for the dogs skin and keeps it cool! But in order for this to work, the dogs under coat must be groomed correctly and brushed to de-tangle and remove the excess hair. Double coated dogs should be groomed on a regular basis, free from knots, tangles and excess undercoat! However, if the dog is left too long (without grooming) when the heat causes them to dump their excess undercoat they can matt very quickly. Depending on coat type, diet and conditions sometimes as quickly as a few days. If the matting becomes severe and gets close to the skin, the kindest thing for the dog is to clip it. Pulling, brushing, combing or cutting matts out is very painful for the dog. As long as a clipped dog is not allowed to sunbake they wont sunburn. Some dogs with double coats are clipped short in summer to help with heatstoke and to help with tick checks. Alot of my customers live on property and work full time. The best thing for those dogs is a very short coat. Ticks wait on the tips of blades of grass and wait for something to brush past. They have alot less to hold onto when the dog is clipped short, therefore greatly reducing the risk of tick paralysis. A live dog with a short coat is alot better than a huge vet bill and losing a loved pet. Please make sure your dogs have access to shade and plenty of water!

20.01.2022 Merry Christmas Everyone and to all my dogs, cats, birds, ducks, horses, ponies, goats, and guinea pigs I have groomed through the year. Thankyou all so much for supporting my business this year through covid, my injury in august and my car issues in July. Thankyou all for being so kind, flexible, understanding and caring. Almost everyone of you was affected by my cat bit injury and handled changing days, changing groomers and bringing dogs to me without a second thought. Tha...nkyou all for being so kind and welcoming to my helpers and dealing with weird me doped up to the eyeballs on painkillers. Your kind words and enthusiasm with my brand new trailer really warmed my heart. Strangley enough my new trailer hit the road exactly to the day 3years since the first one did. Leanne and I had a look at the figures and discovered that my business has expanded by an enormous 80% in the last 12 months!! No wonder im exhausted. This last year has been tough on everyone and I lost a fair few of my longest standing clients to age and illnesses. I miss them all terribly. I have managed with the help of other clients to ensure some lucky dogs have been rehomed through me to have wonderful new families and happy Christmases too. Many many of you have become close friends and even turn up to help me clean the trailer (along with sponge eating tiny humans), move my arsehole horses with your floats, lend me paddock for said arsehole horses during flooding, helping out with daily chores while I couldnt use my hands and checking in, feeding or locking up my own animals when we were both working or competing. Thankyou to those people. There have been a few new babies this past 6months, Daisy, Molly, Bella, Ranger, Honesty, Prince, Socs, Milo, Nova and Tater. I love visiting these ones and seeing them grow and improve in their baths and their happy faces and zoomies afterwards. Training these babies to love their baths and enjoy my visits always makes my day. Heres to a better 2021. See more

20.01.2022 The rain has FINALLY arrived. While its amazing and I'm really thankful for the drop in temperature its not going to make it easy to get all the dogs done in the lead up to xmas. I can now work in the rain however I also need to ensure I can get home if there is flooding. IF it is still pouring and not looking like clearing I will move all days from Monday to Wednesday forward. Monday's dogs will move to Tuesday Tuesday dogs to Wednesday ... Wednesday dogs to Thursday I will let you know if you day is moved. Please bear with me over the next 10 days. I will do my best to answer messages, deliver products and ensure I dont miss anyone. If I do please just keep messaging me. Chase me so I don't forget. Im trying to prep myself with lists etc for each day to make sure it doesn't happen. Confirmations will go out Tomorrow for the final 6 days and run sheets and times will be done by tomorrow night. If you require me to drop items or remember something please message me between 7pm the night before and before 6am on the day. I leave early to feed my horses and ensure they are sorted then I also have minding jobs to attend. I have 6 boxes of toys, treats, collars and leads available for Xmas presents in my car. 05.01.2022 OCTOBER CLOSING FOR GROOMER REJUVENATION. I will be having a week away from the 9th to the 18th of October. This will ONLY affect my WEEK 1 clients. I will be grooming these dogs between my Week 4 dogs. I will spread them out over the week days from the 5th to the 8th of October. When I return schedules will continue as normal. I will send out text message confirmations and times as normal with rescheduled days so no need to worry. I will also be delivering a flyer with this info for my week 1 clients when I visit this week. I am now FULLY BOOKED FROM 5TH - 8TH OCTOBER.

Between now and when I stop for my break, I am requesting that you have payment ready for when I arrive, either by cash or card on the day, or a bank deposit the day BEFORE I am due....
