14.01.2022 There is nothing more heart breaking for a business owner than to know that they have let down their customers, and I fear this weekend we did just that. To say we had a challenging weekend is an understatement, and in the restaurant business just about everything that could have gone wrong did for us this weekend Suppliers that let us down, equipment that let us down and we have let you, our most valued customers, down. I would like to offer my apologies to our customers and assure you we are making plans to make every experience a great one in the future. We are a new business, and know that we wont get it right every time, but we learn from these things and make sure we get it right next time. I sincerely hope that those who experienced less than a great experience this weekend will give us another go and visit again soon.

10.01.2022 Hey everyone! As I'm sure we all know by now, the QLD Government has enacted a 3-day lockdown effective as of this evening, 6pm. Restrictions are set to lift this Monday, at 6pm. Sam's will be closed during this period, set to re-open on Wednesday 13th, business as usual. (Obviously, pending further government direction.)... In the event that the lockdown continues further than this time, we endeavour to begin providing all of our delicious foods as takeaway, paired with our lovely wine list. You'll be able to order over the phone or online and collect at your leisure - keep an eye out as we'd love your support! We hope that everyone keeps safe and sane during these crazy times and send our dearest thank yous and blessings in particular to those on the front lines of this pandemic. 10.01.2022 After 104 days of building, sanding, painting, tiling, choosing equipment and mountains of paperwork it is our extreme pleasure to announce that we are opening on Friday 18th September 2020. For our first week we will be opening for breakfast and lunch from 6:30am to 3pm and then opening for our first dinner service on Friday 25th September. 09.01.2022 In case anyone is wondering, in the back of their mind, what sort of person does it take to open a restaurant and wine bar in the middle of a global pandemic.... (and yes feel free to say crazy) The answer is simple someone with a passion for living and loving life to the fullest and seizing the day.

09.01.2022 Well it’s been a journey that is for sure. In a few short hours we open our doors for the first time. We are so proud to have employed so many locals and especially those who, while they may not have the experience, have the drive to succeed. We had some fun in the kitchen the last couple of days testing and perfecting our dishes (here are some pictures of just a few to tempt you) we hope you love them as much as we do. Thank you to all the wonderful people who have brought us to this moment. A dream has come true.

The outreach of love and support has been overwhelming - small businesses like ours can’t exist without great communities like Sandgate! This year, we’ll be closed over the holiday period so that we can recover, recoup and come back next year even better!
