21.01.2022 Just in case you were wondering, even though we arent currently doing public pelican feeds at noon, we are still giving the pellies their daily snack at random times during the day. This also allows us to keep monitoring the birds and keep an eye out for sick, injured, or entangled animals that might need help. Stay safe everyone

12.01.2022 In the interests of public safety and to encourage social distancing, San Remo Fisherman's Co-op has postponed the Pelican feeding until further notice. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

11.01.2022 THE PELLIES HAVE GONE FISHIN :) Pelican visitation varies from day to day, indicating that they dont rely totally on us for a feed. The warm weather has brought an increase in ocean activity and there are a lot of fish about, so not one pelican visited us today! This is a great sign that there are a lot of fish out there Our apologies to the humans who visited today, but Ranger Val still provided an interesting and educational talk.

04.01.2022 Good news... We noticed a pelican coming to San Remo, with a growth under his bill. This week we managed to capture him and take him to Newhaven Vet Clinic, where they carefully removed the growth. After some recovery at Phillip Island Nature Parks animal rehab facility, Gus was released near Churchill Island yesterday. THANK YOU to everyone who helped this week :)
