Your skin clears, as your sebum production is suppressed You decide to take a break and come off the pill 3-6months later, your sebum production rebounds with an increase in androgens = oils Skin breaks out, acne flares.... Certain types of birth control (Yasmin, Brenda, Dianne) suppress sebum to childhood levels, which might sound ideal but if far from the norm. As we age, we are supposed to have more sebum than children. Your skins response after suppression is to up regulate sebum and make more! There is an increase in androgens at this point, that is although temporary can have women mistakenly diagnosed with PCOS. This increase in sebum can cast between 12 18 months. Elevit is a well-marketed product that makes for expensive urine while lacking the key nutrients in the correct form and dose to support a healthy pregnancy and reduce neural tube defects through supplementation. Elevit is rubbish for many reasons, and it still shocks me Doctors, GPs, OBGYN still recommends this product. These specialists are amazing, yet they do not receive training around nutrition, optimal forms of vitamins and minerals and th...e chemistry around absorption. It demonstrates how good their marketing is and how there is a serious lack of understanding of the research. Elevit contains not choline. The current research shows Choline is emerging as a key nutrient in pregnancy. Choline is critical during fetal development, when it influences stem cell proliferation and apoptosis, thereby altering brain and spinal cord structure and function and influencing risk for neural tube defects and lifelong memory function. Folate is the natural form of vitamin B9. In pregnancy, folate and other B vitamins help to reduce the risk of spinal Bifida. Elevit contains Folic acid. This synthetic form of folate is often in supplements and fortified foods such as cereals. There are over 20 enzyme reactions needed for this conversion to take place. Emails could wait, the webinar I could catch up on, dinner can be simple. It actually made me realize how much tension I do carry. Since covid and working solo there seems to be no definitive start and stop to my day and week.
