20.01.2022 A rare find. This card table baffled me for a good while. I couldn't see how the top, once opened, stopped from falling. It took me some time to realise the top pivoted - clever. And look at that baize colour! This really needs to be restored..

19.01.2022 A new item...yes, this was the only photo I took of it before I started. It has an extended edged top that I liked. A solid attractive piece that had been forgotten about.
18.01.2022 Now you can see the extended edge after painting...the tough urethane paint moulds nicely to the shape.
17.01.2022 My first upcycled piece! It does time as a magazine storage unit now...but life's not bad next to THAT chair!
16.01.2022 Time to Sell Yes. For the first time I am going to sell some items. My house is full! I don't want to part with any of them, but I really can't keep them all. Oh well.... So, if you are interested - it is first come, first served - bear in mind each one of these is unique, you will never find anything else like your purchase! Here is the direct Gumtree Link - http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-sana+upcycled/k0 go get'em!
16.01.2022 OK - painted, cleaned and restored timber and hinges - needs some new legs!
15.01.2022 oh yeah...now that's how to sit and play cards, write, eat, whatever. Really solid because the top is supported on the base on all four sides plus the cool textured baize lets you get your fingers under the cards/paper/pizza!

14.01.2022 New legs, and a new home!
13.01.2022 The latest piece - just procured. E.R. Noblett "Regal" display cabinet, I'd say circa 1958. What will this become?
13.01.2022 This is the Douglas Snelling piece when it arrived. Note the (poorly painted) black legs...what a shame to cover up that Queensland Maple!
12.01.2022 Marking up and milling a set of Californian Splayed legs in pine as a template for the Queensland Maple legs that will be crafted from this template.
10.01.2022 Does this go with this ? .... hmmm
08.01.2022 I love this piece. Douglas Snelling was an industrial design genius. The lack of handles on the drawers, the single door and the simple leg joint design would have cut the production cost immensely, whilst strengthening the brand and structure. And to do it with such style! No wonder these are in museums. I would never have touched it if the previous owner had not let water run all over it! I hope I have done it justice.

06.01.2022 The top, bottom and sides of this cabinet were extended out in a lip all round so that the doors and drawers will look recessed into the cabinet. The side edges were raked down to nothing in the centre to give an intersting profile shape. It was a pain to do, but I like it! Se more in the Inspire Me! Album...
04.01.2022 The finished product is awesome - definitely a keeper! The legs complement the carcass shape so well, and the proportions are fine.

03.01.2022 The next piece - a Macrob carcass from an old wall unit, to be married to a set of legs from I can't remember where...
02.01.2022 I really like the unique distressed look working on this cabinet has achieved. One day I'll find the right piece for this look and the pink-camo range will be born!
