23.01.2022 Year 10 Marine & Aquaculture students tested their fishing skills at Queens Wharf today, as part of their Fish Harvesting unit of work. Students independently prepared their equipment, baited their barb-less hooks and landed several species of fish. For some excited students, this was their first time catching a fish! Champion Angler went to Hayden, with a huge Bream. All fish were returned to the water to fight another day. A special thank you to Mr Quinn and the Science Faculty for organising this engaging outdoor lesson for our students. #BeActive #KeepLearning #Connect

Some of the species encountered included Red and Green Anenomes, Zebra Periwinkles, Sea Hares, an octopus, and a very curious Moray Eel! The day concluded with a walk along the Yuelarbah walking track to Hickson St lookout, where students took in the view over the Glenrock Conservation Area. #KeepLearning #TakeNotice #BeActive

20.01.2022 On a glorious spring day and with the scaffolding now removed, it was an opportunity to stop and #TakeNotice of the beauty of the restoration project that has recently been completed at SCM. We also #Give thanks to the skilled craftsmanship and care, that the tradespeople took when completing the works, in particular, Lewis Engineering, Hunter Heritage Stone Masonry and Gosford Quarries. The buildings are apart of our Dominican heritage and help to tell the story of San Clemente as an educational institution. The restoration work carried out on the buildings will ensure their continued beauty, for generations to come.
