25.01.2022 Thanks to Viridian International, we were able to accomplish in 3 days what has not been done in several years; that is upgrading the Boys and Girls government run centres in Ormoc City, Leyte. Friendships and lasting memories were created in 3 short days. A great time was had by all as we shared fun times, laughter and smiles. We repaired the structure with some material and paints but the real work was etched upon the hearts of the children, truly priceless

17.01.2022 With the support of Fujitsu Australia and others, we have been providing laptops to schools and students in Melbourne, areas of Australia and other countries. We collaborate with schools, family violence services, drug and alcohol services as well as mental health agencies to support children with their educational needs through the provision of laptops. Donated laptops have not only benefited individual students but also... The donation of laptops have and will greatly increase the ability for teachers to educate children and provide much needed practice for students in the use of technology. We are grateful to Fujitsu Australia and others for their ongoing support and continued donations of laptops.

07.01.2022 Great things start with small steps. SANCSS was contacted by a village representative from PNG asking if we could donate two laptops to their remote village school. Well, this project as an amazing journey as the initial project grew and grew. With the intensive involvement of the local project coordinator on the ground we were able to facilitate this amazing project.... Two pallets of educational resources, 10 laptops and Solar Inverters and other needed items made their way to Paevara Village in the mountains near Arawa, Independent region of Bougainville, PNG. So in a village that has no electricity, one solitary room is powered 24 hours a day. The Computer IT lab, powered entirely by solar is set up to assist students and teachers to access up to date information and resources. An E-Learning system known as Rachel was installed to give students access offline to resources. In a village where students previously needed to walk several kilometres downhill to get to a school with better resources, village children are now able to attend school in their own backyard and have better access to supplies and resources than most tow schools. SANCSS was glad to hear that enrolments for the school have increased significantly with many town children wanting to make the uphill journey to attend school.

05.01.2022 Sancss Australia has been established for the purpose of assisting children in Australia and other countries, to overcome life-barriers including: adequate accommodation, health, educational barriers and more. A long term goal is to establish residential care homes and the implementation of programs to help educate youth and their families that are affected by this in specific regions of the Philippines and funding community projects in other areas for the benefit of disadva...ntaged children. Since typhoon Yolanda devastated the parts of the Philippines in 2013, the need for services for these at risk children has risen with Government Services not being able to cope with the demand. The residential care facility will provide: - Caring home environment - Health checks and services - Healing/recovery from trauma - Reunification efforts - General Education - Vocational training (TESDA or equivalent) - Recreational activities, community service work - Leaving care - Self sufficiency and revenue raising Sancss is seeking viable options to carry out this project in the Philippines.

01.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce the rebrand of SANCSS - introducing The Sixth Child. Why the rebrand you ask? Well, the statistics tell us that one in six children in Australia is disadvantaged. This is an astonishing statistic for a country as wealthy as ours which claims to have national values of fairness, generosity and compassion. When this statistic is quoted in general conversation, people accept it is true, yet are horrified by its reality. One in six children in Australia is disadvantaged. Will you support The Sixth Child? Come on over to our new Facebook page or follow us on Instagram @thesixthchildau.
