17.01.2022 I did a pre purchase termite inspection in Clunes and under the house showed absolutely no evidence of termites. I went into the roof not expecting to find anything and lo and behold a very large termite nest. It was not active but as the termites need to be in contact with the ground, what happened to the signs of them travelling up the house piers? Maybe a previous owner removed the evidence but did not look in the roof? It's a good thing we did.

15.01.2022 How's the creativity of these termites? A steel framed house but chipboard flooring. How do they know what is above them? They are blind and need to travel in the dark. Still, a pretty nice effort.

14.01.2022 We were called out to have a look at a termite nest in a tree at a property near Bangalow. Now, nests in trees are not uncommon in these parts and I thought "okay no big deal" but then...

11.01.2022 Flying Jumping Ants. It's spring so the insects are waking up and dispersing to create new colonies. This jumping ant was captured by out intrepid technician, Bradley. As he said "the stuff of nightmares".

08.01.2022 The Humane rat trap is a device used throughout New Zealand to eradicate the pest rats such as the Norway rat and the Roof rat. The rat puts its head in the trap to inspect the non toxic lure and a pin is shot out at speed killing the rat instantly. The trap then resets for the next one.
