19.01.2022 Have you had a chance to read our latest newsletter? The main article last fortnight was ‘What Happens When My Alarm Is Activated?’ If an alarm or smoke alarm goes off and is then cancelled, within a 'short' period of time, with an approved pin or fob, it will be noted by Securitas but no call to the residence is made and no Resort Services Officer (RSO) will be sent to the house. If an alarm/smoke alarm goes off and is not cancelled, Securitas will contact the residents and ...their emergency contacts as per the Home Security Authority Form (HSA) as well as send an RSO to the house. Please note: Residents can only be contacted if we have up to date contact details. We get these when you provide an HSA form to Security. However, an RSO will of course still be sent to the house. To read the article in full please head on over to our website to view the newsletter: https://www.sanctuarylakesresort.com.au//017_-_August_25th

19.01.2022 Got a niggling feeling that someone you know or care about it isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it. By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend or workmate open up. If they say they are not ok, you can follow the R U Ok day conversation steps to show them they’re supported and... help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are ok, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask. R U Ok Day 10th September 2020. https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

17.01.2022 What an outstanding effort by our lake maintenance team yesterday with 7 loads of sea grass collected by the FX7 (deep water harvester) from The Peninsula area. There are about 7 truckloads sitting here waiting to be taken to the tip. The average weight per load at the tip is 2 tonnes, which means we have around 14 tonne of sea grass waiting to be taken to the tip.... Great job guys!

16.01.2022 Due to the heavy rainfall we have had, it is highly likely that we will be unable to complete mowing around the Resort this week as the ground is too sodden. Please note we will re-assess the condition of the ground towards the middle of the week to determine whether we are able to use the ride on mowers.

16.01.2022 The recent sunny days we have had have brought the snakes out. There were 4 snake sightings on the golf course last week! We would like to remind all residents to please take care when out walking on or near the golf course, particularly if you have a four-legged friend with you. ... Wyndham City Council provides a professional snake catching service to remove snakes from residential properties within Wyndham. This service is free of charge to residents and can be accessed by phoning 9742 0777. It’s important to note that if you choose to contact a snake removalist independently, without going through Council, you will be responsible for any cost incurred.

14.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the special dads out there. In honour of Father's Day please leave your best Dad joke in the comments section below.

12.01.2022 Housekeeping Reminder. Please ensure that plants, trees, and other vegetation on your property does not obstruct public areas (footpaths). Footpaths should always be kept clear to ensure they can be safely used by pedestrians and are clear for wheelchair and pram access. We regularly visit properties to identify trouble spots and you will be asked to trim trees or plants that are deemed to be unsafe or blocking access to public areas.... We thank you in advance for your understanding.

12.01.2022 Good Morning Sanctuary Lakes

10.01.2022 Changes to State Government building regulations means all pools and spas across Victoria need to be registered with Council and certificates provided confirming that they are compliant with safety regulations, by 1 November, 2020. Owners need to ensure their barriers are inspected every four years by a building inspector. These changes are designed to keep young children safe. ... Since 2000, 27 young children have drowned in private swimming pools and spas and in at least 20 of those cases, the non-compliance of the safety barrier was a contributing factor. While it is vital that children are supervised around backyard pools and spas, barriers will prevent children from falling into water and drowning. Wyndham City Council has already counted 5000 pools in the district, but this number likely to increase when it receives new registrations. For more information, please visit www.wyndham.vic.gov.au

09.01.2022 An update of jobs happening around Sanctuary Lakes.

09.01.2022 Its Recycle Bin Day Tomorrow! If you have any damaged bins Wyndham City will repair / replace garbage bins. In most cases bins are generally repaired/replaced within 2 working days after your scheduled collection.

08.01.2022 Magpie season is here, and we encourage residents to be aware of swooping areas (where birds nest). If you have a swooping magpie nearby try to avoid the area. The best way to protect yourself from a swooping bird is to avoid venturing into their territory. If you must pass through the area move quickly do not run. Cover your head, wear a hat, or carry a stick or umbrella above your head. ... Cyclists should wear a helmet, dismount, and walk through the area. Don’t interfere with or throw stones at birds. This gives them added reason to see humans as a threat and may increase swooping behaviour. If you are swooped you can report it to the Victorian Government's Department of Land, Water and Planning at: https://www.wildlife.vic.gov.au/managing-wil/swooping-birds

08.01.2022 We would like to remind all residents that there is now an online booking system which must be used to make a booking for the Recreation Club (gym or swimming pool). Please click on the following link to access the online booking system: https://veribook.com/ew.jsp... Please note each session will run for 45 minutes. 08.01.2022 We would like to remind residents to please ensure backyards are maintained regularly. Overgrown vegetation at the rear of properties can become a health hazard as such conditions provide a haven for snakes/vermin. In consideration of your neighbours, please ensure that your Lot is always kept in a safe and tidy condition.

08.01.2022 4 Weeks To Go! Due to COVID-19 the new disconnection date of the copper network is October 23rd 2020. This will cause many existing Telstra/Optus phone lines to cease operation. This means any home which has not had its alarm panel upgraded with an NBN compatible (PermaConn) communicator will NO LONGER report to the Monitoring Station.... For this reason, we strongly recommend that you install a PermaConn unit before you run out of time.

07.01.2022 Springtime is certainly upon us. The Pyrus trees at Adventure Playground Park are now in flower.

06.01.2022 Have you had a chance to read our latest newsletter? During the lockdown period we have had an increased number of queries as to cyclists using footpaths so last fortnight we had an article on shared pathways and cyclists. Here at Sanctuary Lakes we have a shared pathway (inner circle larger path of the Boulevard) and a footpath (external smaller path of the Boulevard).... Shared paths are areas open to the public that are designated for use by both pedestrians and bike riders. Where as a footpath is for the use of pedestrians only or bike riders under the age of 13. To read the article in full please head on over to our website to view the newsletter: https://www.sanctuarylakesresort.com.au//019_-_September_8

06.01.2022 We are now preparing the 2021 Calendar and once again we invite Sanctuary Lakes’ creative camera people to join us and send in their photos. This year our theme will be Living in Sanctuary Lakes. We hope that we can document some of the wonderful things going on in this most difficult of years.... We would love to see our neighbours exercising, walking, jogging, cycling, boating, even just kicking a ball. Our children playing on the beach or in the parks. Capture our very special birdlife on the lake, in the wetland, by the creek and in our gardens. And of course, the magnificent flowers and plants that beautify our Boulevards, Parks and your Gardens. We want to be certain that your photographs will reproduce perfectly so can you make sure they have a minimum 300 D.P.I. Please send your pictures to [email protected] no later than October 17th 2020.

05.01.2022 Dear Residents, In light of the temporary suspension of the Saturday green waste drop off service, we would like to remind residents that Wyndham City offers all households 3 free hard and green waste collection services each financial year. Please note this service is still available under the current Stage 4 restrictions.... If you book a green waste collection with Wyndham City they will pick up bundled tree branches and prunings, as well as grass clippings, vines, rose cuttings, yuccas, weeds and leaves. 03.01.2022 We would like to remind all residents who live within a gated community, that should you be expecting a delivery, you must be home to receive the phone call from the panel as Security will not grant access to any gated estate. This includes parcel deliveries from courier companies as well as food deliveries from Uber Eats, Menulog and the like. Ideally, if you are expecting a delivery of any sort, you should be home and you should ensure your contact details are up to date in... the panel. It is your responsibility to advise the delivery driver how to scroll through the panel to find your address and dial your home and to then open the gate for the delivery when called. Please note Security will only grant access for emergency services, being Police, Fire Brigade or Ambulance.
