Looking more like glass than concrete, the sun shone its rays on the superb finish by GM Concrete. Keep swiping to check out the before pics. That mighty impressive pool of blue foam is 75mm XPS insulation, ready, willing and able to protect the slab. This will help regulate the temperature inside this Passive House, all year round.... It brings us so much joy! Why? This important step effectively uncouples the slab from the ground and will reduce thermal conductance to the earth from the house, making a massive difference in energy use and comfort. 13.01.2022 One of our favourite things about this gorgeous Warrandyte project is not actually the stunning chimney structure itself but the beautiful backdrop it creates with other aspects of the build and serene bushland. This magic photograph says it all in one go. The glass 'canvas' is part of the outdoor spa fence and the alfresco framework and wiring will one day house a vine that will grow up to create dappled light and shade for the lucky homeowners enjoying a whole new qualit...y of outdoor life. No shame there, however, how bloody annoying it is when you’re in the flow of your project or worse still, it’s out of hours and you can’t go shopping.And. Things. Grind. To. A. Halt?? Yeah, very. That there actually answers the question of why we love planning. That’s the vi...be although the scope is a 1,000+ fold building an entire house, and a number of them at once ups the ante considerably. Coordinating a team of guys, a swag of awesome trades and suppliers and lots of details, planning comes in handy. While lack of planning causes frustration and numerous problems, great planning creates a buzz. A buzz of activity, achievement, being in the flow, happy staff, happy tradies, happy suppliers and happy management that can manage a wink or two of sleep at night. 07.01.2022 These pics are from our Abbotsford project and we’re just loving the look of the cladding especially when it’s contrasted so handsomely by the original old bricks of the chimney that were painstakingly re-built and other materials. The mix of external textures makes for a character filled extension to a special old cottage, lovingly revived to become a stylish, high performance home. This gorgeous kitchen is the true heart and hub of one of our stunning Warrandyte projects that was featured in @countrystylemag’s special kitchen edition. We’re proud on both counts!
