24.01.2022 WEDNESDAY PLANS Alright guys, we need a BIG one tomorrow. We have 4+ boats on board to ferry crews to and from any spots of interest, and also to do short... sweeps. A few jetskis also on board for sweeps. The police will most likely scale down by tomorrow afternoon or the next day. SO WE REALLY NEED AS MANY HANDS ON DECK AS POSSIBLE If you know ANYONE that could help, even if it's walking the beach tracks, 4wd tracks etc. Cooking for our awesome volunteers, there is always something someone can do to help!! If your in Brisbane, and struggling with the costs to get over to lend us a hand, PLEASE PM ME!! We can help. As this may be our full last day searching we really need to give tomorrow our all! To be apart of such amazing community sprit like this is something amazing but to do it twice in a matter of 7 weeks, along side a poor family that just lost their son to the ocean, but are out helping someone in the same situation something else To the Riley family who have packed up all the safety gear and everything left over from Trents search within an hour or so, jumped on a barge and come over for not just emotional support and trekking, but to just be here for the family.. YOU ARE AMAZING!!! You have so much love, your selfless and you care SO much for anyone around you. The world needs more Rileys

We look forward to returning to our island paradise when it is safe to do so and help the wonderful community of Point Lookout recover. Until then, stay safe everyone!

06.01.2022 North Stradbroke Island fire update as at 11.10am 19 September 2019 Dont cancel your plans to visit Straddie Visitors with plans to head to wonderful Strad...die for the school holidays should not cancel their travel plans. The fire remains within containment lines in inaccessible swampland 3km south of Amity Point. It is not affecting camp sites, however be aware there is some smoke on the island if you have respiratory problems. Whales can be seen daily from the Point Lookout Gorge Walk and the beaches are crystal clear, including Cylinder Beach which for the last two years has been named Surf Lifesaving Queenslands Best Beach in the the State. Theres great fishing and snorkelling. You can also be sure to see dolphins at Point Lookout and very often around the jetty at Amity. You will also be able to see kangaroos and koalas across the island. Theres also great local produce with the Point Lookout Markets on every Sunday during the holidays (22 and 29 September and 6 October). Heed the local fire ban, listen to emergency services messaging on 612 ABC Brisbane radio https://abc.net.au/radio/brisbane or visit the Redlands Coast disaster dashboard website https://disaster.redland.qld.gov.au for the latest information and enjoy one of the most incredible places in Australia. 04.01.2022 Did you know that Sandcastles on Main is pet friendly?? Dogs are strictly outside but we have a fenced back yard and big verandah for your fur babies! There is a great off leash beach at Home beach for dogs to enjoy !!
