25.01.2022 Year 7 Humanities students spent the day at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, learning more about atmospheric hazards through the exhibit on Cyclone Tracy, as well as enjoyed the Telstra NATSIAA exhibition.



24.01.2022 Year 8s busy making their Year 9 subject selections! Options include 3 VET classes, Duke of Ed, Outdoor Education, Languages, Arts, Design and Technologies! Wow -so many choices!

24.01.2022 Year 8 students had a taster of our Sanderson Trade Centre courses today to help them decide if they would like to undertake a VET course in 2021.

23.01.2022 What a big day for our SRC and Ecowarriors! They were joined by 200 students from Wulagi, Malak, Anula, Nightcliff Primary Schools and Nightcliff Middle School for Design Day - a quality conference style day. They experienced a facilitated Design Day process that promoted student voice and community action.

23.01.2022 A group of students did art activities based on the work of inspirational environmental artists to celebrate Sustainability Day. Inspired by Elito ‘Amang Pintor’ Circa, (an environmentally aware Filipino artist) students made paintings with instant coffee and beetroot juice to highlight the use of sustainable materials. Students learned more about the Land Art installations of Andy Goldsworthy through the experience of creating a work inspired by one of his pieces.... Students also made art on old newspaper with inspiration from the Chinese contemporary artist Sun Xun, learning an appreciation for using materials less costly to our environment.

22.01.2022 Last week the Smith Family Passports to Success Program ran a Myth Buster session with two Year 9 mentors Gabriel and Taya from Sanderson Middle School! Our Year 6 students asked some great questions and the mentors represented their school with great presence and knowledge.



22.01.2022 Unfortunately our Year 9 Gold Coast trip could not go ahead this year but our students enjoyed the opportunity to explore their own backyard.

20.01.2022 Our School Choir have had limited opportunities to perform this year but they put on a brilliant performance at our Week 10 Assembly. Congratulations to Sarah and Ebony on the solo performances.

13.01.2022 This term in English, year 7s have explored different forms of Australian writing. Our Leading Learners created their own picture book celebrating the cultural diversity of their class, inspired by the book ‘I’m Australian Too’ by Mem Fox.

08.01.2022 Sanderson students have been enjoying choreographic workshops with professional dancer Arthur Lariosa over the past few weeks. Students will be honing their dance skills and performing at the end of the term.

06.01.2022 We are super proud and excited to have two teachers selected as finalists for the 2020 Teaching in the Territory Excellence Awards - Ms McNeil, Education Leadership in Schools and Mr Skoufezis, Secondary Teacher of the Year. We think they both should win!!

06.01.2022 The 1st graduates from our new Sanderson Trade Centre. These students completed a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (Barista Skill Set). Staff are missing their morning coffees!
