24.01.2022 Those fearful words when kids say lets do painting mummy and there is no playgroup to do it in. This morning we made and painted pirate ships. Would love to see how your keeping the kids busy.

24.01.2022 Our sandpit has been filled with lovely fresh new sand thanks to a good looking bloke that lives in the neighbourhood, just needing some little fingers and little toes to try it out!

22.01.2022 Are you having a toy clean out? Then please consider our playgroup. We are local and have been running for 25+ years at the girl guide hut, Sandgate. We are looking for toddler plus age toys, cars, animals, dinosaurs, toy kitchen pots, fruit etc. Open again from Thursday 9th January, 9-11am.

21.01.2022 Well it was a fun first day back at playgroup for the year with lots of activities going on. The bubble snakes were a hit. The kitchen was in full swing with microwaved cupcakes on the menu. The water play area turned into a pool, the water rocket launched, no one was safe from the spray! With a surprise visit from our Ambo friends with the kids going for an up and down ride on the beds!

20.01.2022 Thankyou for joining us we were Bugs and wrigglies galore. Two more weeks of playgroup till we break for Christmas.

20.01.2022 FEET PAINTING and WATERPLAY, Thursday 16 January 9-11am. We have a tone of cardboard, so though we could get well and truly messy and paint with our feet this week. Dont wear anything good as this week will definitively end with a hose wash down!

19.01.2022 Join us this Thursday from 9-11am and make magical paintings with milk, dishwashing liquid and food colouring.

19.01.2022 For the last playgroup for the year well be making some tree decorations and decorating some biscuits with Christmas colours. Get ready for sticky fingers: Glue for the tree decorations and icing sugar for the biscuits! Just dont lick your fingers after the gluing, kids! See you tomorrow at the girl Guide Hut. 9-11.

18.01.2022 Wow that was messy! Couldnt decide on the photos so uploaded them all! Yes it ended with a hose as expected. One more week and these big boys are off the prep. Lovely to see some dads here this week as we open book corner!!

Please feel free to join us at the girl guide hut this Thursday 9am to 11am for some wet play - bubble fun. The kettle will be on, look forward to hearing all about your midnight escapades on New Years Eve

17.01.2022 Well the mess didnt disappoint this week. There was water and colour and sticky hands everywhere. we mixed, rolled balls, made drippy tentacles and dug for dinasaurs. Thanks everyone for all throwing in a hand to clean up it makes all the difference. Three more playgroups till we break for Christmas!

12.01.2022 VOLUNTEER once a month! Thursday 9am-11am. Are you local and have children or grandchildren? Sandgate Playtime playgroup at the girl guides hut has been running for about 25 years by local mums. We are looking for a fourth person to complete our tribe. Opening up playgroup, placing out toys and helping make sure everyone packs up. If you think that could be you please send us a message, these groups cannot continue to run without your support.

12.01.2022 Well it seems strange lining the kids up to make presents for yourself so have found some ideas for grandparents that you might like to put in the post. Cause if your like me they are all in isolation and its been way too long between cuddles

10.01.2022 A quiet day at playgroup, I think everyone was hiding at home due to the rain. Thanks for the lovely company ladies some creative inspiration made with my recycling!

10.01.2022 So it looks like it might be another rainy day this Thursday 13 February. With my recycling out of control I thought we could attempt to see what we could make! 08.01.2022 Some rainbow spaghetti fun was had this morning. A fair amount of which was eaten by our smallest members! And who knew that when you hop in the water bath with coloured spaghetti the spaghetti stays coloured! Thanks for a lovely morning Mums, Dads and little people.

08.01.2022 Anzac Day is a time to remember, so today we watched a kids video on the meaning of Anzac Day. Then we made and ate some Anzacs, and made a poppy wreath. Not sure how much sunk in but Lest we forget

06.01.2022 Happy Easter everyone! This is what we did with our Easter eggs wrappings! The kids loved it.

06.01.2022 Playgroup is on this week. Please ensure your children are healthy. We will be making sand foam (Sand, Shaving cream and food colouring) it will be colourful and messy so bring a change of clothes. 9am - 11am Thursday girl guide hut, Sandgate.

06.01.2022 Some circle printing fun was had this morning with some new faces and friends to play with. The new sand in the sandpit was a hit with the kids for the second consecutive week (thanks Cath and Iain for filling it over the holidays) and all us Mums got the chance to have a bit of a catch up. The circle printing turned into a bit of paint-squishing for some, but it was a great way to start our Thursday morning. Join us next week for some more fun and a chat.

05.01.2022 Hi Sandgate Playtime Playgroup Team. We're following the advice offered to everyone to keep the spread of Covid-19 to a minimum and closing the Guide Hut doors until we get the green light that we can open again. With so many places shutting down for a while we thought that we will still try to keep our group connected and post weekly activities that you should be able to do at home with minimal resources. To add to that, our next idea: What about if we all then post photos/video clips of our little people doing the activities? Our kids can then still "see" their friends if we show them the post. I know that I'd be VERY happy to see pictures or suggestions of other activities aswell. If you do something fun with your little people (or mid-sized people too!) keep us posted! Just stay in touch Team and keep healthy, happy and safe.

05.01.2022 Dad set up a covid barber shop this week, payment was in chocolate. Then the kids got to set up one too. Lets just say the results were short back and sides al round, better than a bowl I guess

04.01.2022 The last week of playgroup for 2019 was a sticky experience! Decorations were made, edible and not so edible, mud baths were invented and happy faces left our little playgroup. Merry Christmas to one and all. See you all next year.
