15.01.2022 Well, another month has gone by and still the virus has us in its grip although, as you know, restrictions are lifting. 14.01.2022 Hi Everyone Well, despite recent happenings of Covid in the community, the Council is allowing us to recommence screenings. Before we do we’d like a bit of information from you all. ... We’re wondering what type of films are you interested in attending: Recent release you didn’t get a chance to see at the cinema? Old classics - by Old we don’t necessarily mean Black and White movies. More esoteric films? We’re also concerned about the length of films. More than 90mins seems a bit long on the Town Hall chairs. We will encourage you, if you have them, to bring along comfortable folding chairs We will still have the tables out so you can enjoy a snack and a beverage. And lastly, we are appealing for other people to join the committee. It’s not that time consuming but extra help with the organizing of each film would be appreciated. So, if you feel like it’s something you want to be more involved in, please drop us a line. The next screening will take place on April 25. More on that later.

12.01.2022 We’re all missing our monthly outing to the Town Hall. So, how about we all post an clip or comment about our favourite film(s). I’ll start with this one, one of my two favourite films. Both came out in the same year, 1983. ... I never tire of watching this film. I attended a public lecture by the producer, David Puttman, a couple of years ago and he was asked a question about what movie he was most proud of - bearing in mind he produced Midnight Express, Chariots of Fire, The Killing Fields, The Mission among others and he chose this little film. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. It’s wonderful, and one of those few films that you get more out of each time you watch it. It was one of Burt Lancaster’s final films and, to some extent, rebooted his career in his twilight years. It also brought us Jenny Seagrove and Peter The 12th Doctor Capaldi. https://youtu.be/nufb3JysCgY
