25.01.2022 The Ladies Bronze Pennant team played at Wynnum on Friday 1st March with Sandra and Sue H having wins, Vicki lost on 18th hole and Denise and Gwen both had a loss. Great effort girls, we will get them next week. Ladies Silver Pennant team played at Wantima on Friday 1st March with wins for Claire Daly and Simone. Joy, Janis and Meg weren't as lucky with close hard fought games, great effort girls, you can have next Friday off (haha). Sandgate hosting, so no play for us which is a shame I am sure we could beat them on our own course. Thanks to Sue Bailey for the update!

21.01.2022 A special thanks to Mr Andy Coller who has been volunteering over the last couple of months to collect and organise our recycled cans so that the Club makes some money from our "empties". Andy has arranged a few ute loads of cans and has made the Club a couple of hundred dollars already. If you see him around the Club, please thank him for his efforts! Thanks Andy!!

12.01.2022 Just a quick note to advise you that the program we use to update the club's website is currently out of order and we are unable to post the results of Saturday's competition. We have reported it to the people who can fix it for us and hope it will be fixed in a day or so. In the meantime, congratulations to Raymond Howe, Peter Campbell, Peter Coddington and Wayne Newman who all won their respective grades yesterday Fingers crossed the site will be updated soon and in the meantime thanks for your patience.
12.01.2022 What a great start to the year for Gavan Knapp, who today scored an ace on the par 3, 5th hole. He also won a 6 pack in the day's raffle, so I am sure a couple of those were used tonight in his celebration. Well done and congratulations Gavan!
10.01.2022 When you’re this close to a hole in one! At least you made the birdie putt Geoff McQuillan!!
09.01.2022 What a wonderful finish to the Pennants 2019 season. Our Silver Pennants Team had a fanastic finish coming second with 5 points losing to the winners by just one point, congratulations players and caddies for a great effort. Our Bronze Team was not so lucky but had a lot of close games which could have gone either way but unfortunately for this season did not go our way, better luck next year. I want to thank all of the players and caddies for giving up your time to represent our club, your eforts are much appreciated. I also want to thank everyone for being accepting of me in my first season as Pennants Captain, it has been a learning curb for me, but an experience I have thoroughly enjoyed. To my predecessors I thank you so much for your help and support. (Words from Janis Fagan and submitted by Sue Bailey). Comments
08.01.2022 This is the story behind the old golf clubs in the display cabinet at Sandgate Golf Club... A friend of Cameron Boal’s was landscaping on a property in Sydney and saw the residents throw an old golf bag and golf clubs into a rubbish skip. He salvaged the golf bag and clubs thinking they were old and maybe valuable. Moving to Brisbane, Cameron’s friend decided to offer these clubs to him knowing he played golf - perhaps his golf club could use them. They were covered in rust a...nd Cameron was about to throw them in the bin when he realised the golf balls in the bag were the older and smaller sized balls (1.62 inch) so, he decided to clean the rust off the irons and discovered the name Dick Carr with the words - Pro. Champ. of Q’land 1927 Open Champ. of Q’land 1926 Researching Dick Carr - Cameron was astounded to find Dick Carr was Pro. at Sandgate Golf Club in 1926 - and won the Qld PGA in 1927. These clubs have now come home and are on display in the Sandgate Golf Club display cabinet. Cameron Boal
06.01.2022 Club Professional Chris Chaplin is excited about a new set of clubs that are out - the Wilson Staff D7 - they are great clubs and are available at a really good price. Wilson have sold a stack of these recently and Chris would like members of the Club to be aware of these. They are easy to hit and produce a great ball flight and good distance. US PGA player Gary Woodland uses the 3 and 5 fairway woods. Chris says they are so much cheaper than many of the other brands and can ...be purchased individually or in sets. They are available in right or left hand, men's and ladies models and can be custom fitted, so Chris can fit them on site at the Club for you. Recommended retail prices are; Driver: $399.00 Fairway wood: $259.00 Hybrid: $239.00 Iron Steel Shaft: $129.00 Iron Graphite Shaft: $149.00 Please contact Chris Chaplin directly for further information. His number is 0410 521 162 and his email is [email protected]

05.01.2022 A belated congratulations to Trevor Howard who scored TWO EAGLES during the one round on Wednesday of last week. Well done Trevor!!
