24.01.2022 NetSpirit Netball Workshops and Training will be joining us on Wednesday 30th June for 2 hour shooting, midcourt and defence specialist sessions across the day. These sessions will be for players aged 10-16 and the cost will be $5 per session. Players please come down to your preferred session, or come on down to all three if you’re keen for a big day of learning new skills! 22.01.2022 Wow !! Our presentation for 2020 saw a record number of attendance and in a COVID year. We have lots of thank you’s to get through A big thank you to the 350+ players, parents and siblings who came to the netball presentation day on Sunday (first time with 3 sessions). It was a great afternoon with a BIG THANK YOU to the Sandgate Bowls Club who catered for the event. We had the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our 28 teams, coaches, umpires, representative playe...rs, 5 and 10 year award recipients and Club Champion and nominees. Oh behalf of the Hawks Netball Club we would like to thank Councillor Jared Cassidy for not only supporting the event for the day, and for also supporting our 9 young players who received 5 year awards and recognised for playing over 75 games for the club. Congratulations to Macy-Lee Smedley our Club Champion award recipient for 2020. This was presented by Jo Hope our Life Member. Macy who plays for the Inters 2 team at club level, along with captaining her Div. 3 14 ‘s side playing for PRNA Representative Netball. Macy is also very close in obtaining her National C Badge for umpiring, so we hope to see her achieve this in the 2021 season. This year brought a tight race for club champion and we would like to thank the following nominees for the dedication and hard work throughout the season. Maddison Clowes-Jenna Hodgson-Tania Lawrence-Jill Warner-Belinda Cameron-Katrina Bailey We also need thank Stirling Hinchliffe MP for attending and supporting our Sandgate Hawks Netball Club Commitment and Loyalty 10 year award (playing over 150 games for the club). This years recipient is Jenna Hodgson Jenna has been with the club for 10 years starting in Netta 8’s as they were called back then. In her time she has coached a number of teams for the club and this year for 2020 coached 2 teams on her own, along with completing year 11. We also said a good bye to our Executive committee members that have been on the committee for the last 3 years. Angela Atkins Registrar and Britnee Cameron Umpire Co-ordinator. We would not have a club if it wasn’t for all these amazing hardworking, aspiring members that keep the club running each and every day. A special thanks to Brooke and Tania for organising and presenting the trophies this year, along with Mel who presented all 3 sessions throughout the afternoon. It was a big day! We say ‘See you later’ to Frank and Beryl our life members who are taking a long deserved rest and hoping to go on their interstate trip in 2021 at some point. This is an exciting new platform that will deliver the best possible solution for the Netball Queensland community so that more people not only play netball, but they find it easier and more enjoyable to do so. 21.01.2022 We are desperately looking for a player aged 12, 13 or 14 (born 2007, 2008 or 2009) for our Sandgate Hawks Owls team! Our fees reduce for the second half of the season, with still 7 games to go. We are welcoming all players of these ages, whether you have netball experience or not, we have a place to learn with one of our fabulous coaches! Please message us if you are interested!

02.01.2022 Monday night marked the end of an epic year! The season for these fixtures were cut short with round 15 cancelled due to the storms rolling in right over the courts. Monday night teams including Div 2 and 3 ladies along with Inters 2 team coming a close 3rd with 1 point difference. Our Saturday fixtures saw 3 teams receiving medals for the day : Junior 11B Ravens team coached by Jenna, assisted by Sophey team taking out number 1 spot premiers for their division great job... girls! Inters 4 Flycatchers team coached by Tania moved from 2nd by winning both their rounds, and taking them to premiers for their division awesome effort ladies! Junior 2D Penguins taking runners up place for their division great work team and for first year coach to the club Alinta We saw quite a few teams fighting for 2nd place and taking out a close 3rd, some with a 1 point difference, these and to all of our teams, you should be proud of your achievements for what’s been a really tough season. Well done to all!! Thank you to all our players, umpires and coaches, committee, life members, and PRNA committee and hope you have a great shorter than normal break and see you in the 2021 season. 02.01.2022 CRAZY SOCK DAY for KATE! This Saturday Ace are running a Crazy Sock Day as a fundraiser for Kate. Come in your craziest socks and make a gold coin donation. ... Kate has been a part of our Ace Family since she was 8. She has represented Ace as a PRNA Rep Player. This year as an under 13 Ace Falcon she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Kate is presently being super brave as she endures 6 rounds of intense chemotherapy. She unfortunately cannot play netball - the game she loves so much. Ace Family your support so far has been outstanding and heartwarming! Let’s keep our support going. Let’s do this for Kate
