24.01.2022 ATTENTION PLEASE !!! Greetings, It seems the possibility of dining at the Shorncliffe Pier is attracting a lot of attention.... By now we can't accommodate any additional guests. Those who didn't rsvp by email or by FB by now - 7/4 at 3.37pm - will need to wait till 10 May. Sorry if we disappointed you. Call to those who are attending: We still need two people to help with set-up on Sunday from 5.30pm (an hour ahead of the dinner). Please call me on 0434 357 862 to confirm what you would be responsible for, where to meet etc. Some help = presence :)) With best wishes Ludmila

17.01.2022 Greetings to the SLTD friends. I have a problem with posting the 10 MAY invitation - I will try again. Thank you Ludmila

08.01.2022 Greetings to the Sandgate Long Table Dinner friends and supporters, I trust you are enjoying this weekend and maybe looking forward to warmer nights. About a month ago you would have received my thoughts relating to the future of our Long Table Dinners. ... Having been given the 'blessing' of the remaining members of our working group to consider the value of future SLTD's and as a result of responses to my mailout, I would like to say thank you to those who responded and confirmed the value of those 16 gatherings since early 2015. We connected with people whom we probably wouldn't have had a chance to meet otherwise, we shared stories, enjoyed the various beautiful spots of Sandcliffe, and ate well (and at times maybe too much!) The feedback did not indicate strong enough practical support to continue. So the 10 July was the last Sandgate Long Table Dinner. If you are on the Sunshine Coast on the 16th of any month (from February to November) at 6pm, you are invited to join the AMBO Long Table Dinner at 6pm at the Old Ambulance Station, 80 Howard Street, Nambour. Might see you along Flinders Parade, at the Post Office or the Saturday Marketskeep well. With appreciation and best wishes Ludmila

05.01.2022 The 13th Sandgate Long Table Dinner at the Shorncliffe Pier. All the best until 10th May! MANY thanks to all the helpers :))

05.01.2022 Dear Long Tablers, The July Sandgate Long Table Dinner was a pleasant event at the SANDBAG's Hall, away from the wind and cold of the night. It was a rather short table, nevertheless we enjoyed the time together and even went 'overtime'.... The food was delicious as always. The number of people attending shouldn't really matter - the opportunity to meet someone new, to share a new experience is what it is all about. However, this didn't really happen. The people who did turn up all knew each other for long time (in fact, prior to the 1st SLTD in February 2015) and were in social contact outside the SLTD anyhow... So we thought we would give it a bit of a pause, take a month off and see if there is interest to start again in September, with probably warmer evenings out in the open again. The 'sister' event at the Old Ambo Station in Nambour 6 days later had more than 40 in attendance and I guess as the saying goes - one gets out of things in proportion to what one puts into them. So, if you are interested in future Sandgate Long Table Dinners, drop us a line within the next fortnight and on the base of that we will see if there is a point in going along. If there isn't interest - that's OK, we had 16 gatherings and the new connections and stories that were discovered and the wonderful food we shared was great. With very best wishes to you all Ludmila and the Famous Five of the 10/7 gathering

04.01.2022 Due to the weather conditions we will be tonight at the Garden Gate Nursery, 153 Rainbow St, Sandgate All the best Ludmila

01.01.2022 Our 'sister' Long Table Dinner at the Old Ambulance Station in Nambour - founded at about the same time as ours - all welcome to drop in, almost exactly the same format and the Ambo is buzzing!
