25.01.2022 Our latest meeting on 3 May was another example of Sandgroper Toastmasters Club's Member Magic! With just 7 members present and Katie on Zoom, we had a very lively, interesting and fun meeting which included 3 excellent speeches. Most members doubled up on assignments (at least) and Penny completed 2 assignments as well as filling-in as President. That's what we call MEMBER MAGIC!

25.01.2022 Wow it was another awesome meeting on Monday 14 June! Not only did we welcome a new guest Sarah, but President Kevin also inducted new member Robin into the Club! Robin was our Toastmaster for the night and she did a superb job. This was her first time in this role!... PREPARED SPEECHES We heard 2 excellent speakers, starting with Kevin, who told us about his trip to Jordan at the end of 2019 and how it exceed his expectations a very interesting speech. Paul also delivered a top-shelf speech on Man’s First Steps on the Moon and how this was reported in the New Zealand newspapers. Paul’s prop was really impactful he showed us the actual newspapers of the day! TABLE TOPICS Vince led Table Topics in his inimitable style, eliciting some very interesting and skilled answers from the 6 speakers, Paul, Joan, David, our guest Sarah, Robin and Jay. Joan supplied supper, which was welcomed and enjoyed by all! EVALUATIONS After the break, Vince evaluated Kevin’s speech, followed by Jay who evaluated Paul’s speech. Table Topics were evaluated with a twist, each speaker being evaluated by the person sitting on the right hand side of each individual Table Topics speaker. This new system worked well and we heard some excellent evaluations. Joan was our General Evaluator and did a very skilful, helpful evaluation of the meeting as a whole.

25.01.2022 We love this version of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" tweaked for these COVID-19 times by "The Fab Four" Please remember "I Gotta Wash My Hands" and keep Washing Your Hands too. We must Stop the Spread of this virus!

25.01.2022 We all lose "The Fear" when we're surrounded by friendly, supportive, "can do" members! At Sandgroper Toastmasters Club, we pride ourselves on adding FUN to our educational sessionss. As our Founder Ralph C Smedley said, "We learn best in moments of enjoyment". We take FUN seriously at this Club!

25.01.2022 We're excited to be returning to face-to-face meetings next Monday. Many adjustments to make, but so worth the rewards of seeing everyone again!

24.01.2022 So wonderful to see 3 of our new members presenting speeches at our meeting on Monday 2 November! Tom spoke about the Melbourne Cup, Angela presented her wedding speech and Jay gave us her Top Tips. All spoke with such confidence and talent! We look forward to further speeches from these new members. Sandgroper Toastmasters Club is on fire!

21.01.2022 This meeting on WA Day was a little low in numbers, but more than made up for this in talent! We also welcomed a lovely new guest, Natalie! We elected our new Committee (almost all positions) and enjoyed an awesome Tonic Show & Tell by Vince - he showed us his drone and educated us on the uses that he made of it. . Katie led a humorous Table Topics session, with the theme of Food During COVID19. Six speakers responded with sometimes hilarious stories! The speakers were ev...aluated with great skill by Penny and Kevin. Penny stepped in as Zoom host and did a top job This meeting just may have been our best yet, thanks to the Magic of our Members! WE'LL BE BACK FOR MORE ON MONDAY 15 JUNE!

18.01.2022 Our Zoom meetings just keep getting better and better as we adapt to the medium The latest meeting on 15 June was yet another Sandgroper Success. We're so grateful to Angie for hosting these online meetings - Big Thanks, Angie! We were delighted to welcome back our guest Gawain (a previous member who now lives in Hobart). What a full, fun-packed agenda Penny our VPE put together, with speeches by David and Kevin (evaluated by Joan and Angie) and an amazing Inspiration fr...om Joan. Eddy's Word of the Day was "Commitment" - a very appropriate word for these times. Toastmaster was Katie. Kerri led a fabulous, fun Table Topics session! She gave us the name of a book we were supposed to have written and we had to explain why we had written such a book. The stories that were told were so creative and lots of fun was had by all! Vince gave his usual insightful General Evaluation - we always learn when Vince speaks. We were all so busy with our roles that no photo was taken of this meeting - so no photo to show our amazingly talented lineup. 16.01.2022 TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!

16.01.2022 We did it again last Monday - on Zoom! No visitors, but 11 members were present for this one and all contributed to the success of the meeting. We had top speeches from Joan (evaluated by Penny) and Angie (evaluated by Vince), in addition to a well-constructed educational from Madeleine. David's inspiration was another winner and Kevin's Table Topics session had each speaker completing the story that Kevin had started for them. This was different and FUN! BEST SPEAKER award went to Joan, BEST TABLE TOPICS SPEAKER was awarded to Harshil and Penny took out BEST EVALUATOR award. Congratulations to all!

16.01.2022 Our first online meeting was a HUGE success! 8 attendees. What a lineup of talent: Our beloved President KERRI opened the meeting. VINCE was our first online Toastmaster of the Day and was brilliant.... KEVIN was Grammarian, with the Word of the Day "Hope" - very appropriate in these times. ANGIE shone as our Host for the Zoom meeting, multi-tasking also Table Topics Master and delivering a fantastic, fun Table Topics session. PENNY was Co-host and also a star, giving us all the benefit of her experience with Zoom and multi-tasking as Timer as well as presenting an amazing Tonic Show and Tell. JOAN was her usual talented self as Table Topics Evaluator, evaluating all 8 responders. MADELEINE was our first online General Evaluator and did a superb job. It was such a Fun, Educational session! 14.01.2022 More Meeting Magic at Sandgroper Toastmasters Club next Monday!

14.01.2022 After such a successful meeting last Monday, we're really looking forward to this next meeting on Monday 5 October! Our member attendance numbers were low last Monday, but how lovely it was to have 3 guests to swell our numbers. Our VPE Penny is such an outstanding member. She looked after the guests, as well as stepping in as President and performing multiple other roles. We're so lucky to have Penny. Eddy shone as Toastmaster; new member Jay delivered an inspiring Icebreake...r as well as evaluating Table Topics; Tom, also a new member, filled the Harkmaster role very capably; David's clever Table Topics session was based on emojis and he evaluated Jay's speech as well. Guest Mark took on the Grammarian role very impressively, with "impressive" as his word for the day. Guest Leanne presented a top Table Topic, as did guest Simon and Simon deservedly won the Best Table Topics speaker. Congratulations, Simon! Penny summarised the recent online training given by District 17 for the upcoming Contests - as well as presenting a very inspiring Inspiration about how Toastmasters had given a friend of hers the tools he needed to deliver his baby grandson's eulogy! 09.01.2022 Our most recent Zoom meeting has turned out to be our last (at this stage). It was another awesome meeting and we've all learnt so much from engaging via Zoom! We had 10 attendees, including Gawain our former member now living in Hobart. Sincere thanks to everyone who supported us on our Zoom experience - you all rock!

07.01.2022 We've had another successful Zoom online meeting at Sandgroper Toastmasters Club! 11 attendees this time, including our AREA DIRECTOR RAYMOND and 2 more members than were at our 1st online meeting - HARSHIL and EDDY! Our beloved President KERRI opened the meeting before handing over to Toastmaster of the Night, JOAN (who excelled online in this role, her debut). Host ANGIE once again shared her Zoom knowledge, along with Co-Host PENNY. They took questions and shared what ea...ch had learned during this fortnight between meetings! HARSHIL was Grammarian with the very appropriate Word of the Day, "Confined". KATIE was Harkmaster and VINCE was Timer. ANGIE presented a very interesting and informative speech on Sleep Hygiene, which was evaluated by a very capable and experienced KERRI. PENNY stepped in with Tonic Show and Tell, excelling in her creative presentation. Table Topics Master MADELEINE challenged us with assorted questions - fabulous! TT Speakers were evaluated by KEVIN and PENNY, both very experienced and skilled Evaluators. HARSHIL was deservedly voted Best Table Topics Speaker! We had Reports from HARSHIL (Grammarian), KATIE (Harkmaster) and VINCE (Timer). All 1st online experience in these roles and great experience. We really appreciated the AREA GOVERNOR stepping in as General Evaluator and doing a top-shelf presentation. All in all, another Sandgroper Toastmasters Club's night of EDUCATIONAL FUN - with lots of healthy belly-laughs!
