Please bearer with me during this time 2020 has been a difficult one I am in Sydney still and not sure what and when I be back in warrnambool..Due to covid19 and the passing of both parents.. 08.01.2022 SWH CORONAVIRUS UPDATE The DHHS-confirmed positive coronavirus case in Warrnambool at the weekend is linked to Colac’s current coronavirus cluster. The person e...xposed is in self-isolation. This is, again, a timely reminder to all of us to do the right thing by maintaining good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette, and physically distancing. We expect to see more positive cases and we need to focus on preventing local community transmissions. Given our close connections with Colac, we need to do everything we can to ensure a similar event does not occur in our local communities. We continue to enjoy and be allowed to do so many more things than people in lockdown in Melbourne and Mitchell and this will only be sustained by preventing the spread of this deadly virus. We encourage everyone to show kindness and care to people who have COVID-19, or are awaiting their test results. This is an awful disease that no-one chooses to get and this is a time to be considerate and assist and support people (whilst keeping your distance). It’s imperative that if you have any symptoms you get tested and then isolate until you get your results. And if you’re living with a close contact you must live completely separate from this person, as directed by the DHHS contact tracing team. We’re in a really positive place and by doing the right things we can maintain this. 01.01.2022 Our midwives have been incredibly busy over the past week. In just 48 hours, 12 babies entered the world at our Warrnambool Base Hospital while our Camperdown H...ospital welcomed one-sixth of its entire 2020 births to date. ‘It’s been an amazing effort over busy days and nights by our dedicated teams of midwives and the new mums and dads have very much appreciated their care and effort,’ says maternity unit manager Janene Facey. So far this year, 429 babies have been born at our Warrnambool Base Hospital and 12 babies have been born at our Camperdown Hospital. SO much joy . PHOTO: In our special care nursery, Warrnambool twins Tillie and Quinn Zimmer have all of us wrapped around their precious little fingers. Born at 30 weeks on May 21, parents Lauren Turner and Ethyn Zimmer are utterly smitten. Lauren (one of our very own SWH nurses) spent seven weeks in the Royal Women’s antenatal unit then another seven weeks, after the girls were born, in its acute special care nursery before they were flown home to us a fortnight ago. Tillie (left) and Quinn are now 9 weeks old.
