25.01.2022 Sharon cleverly forecast Liverpool winning the league when she commissioned this Father’s Day gift at the beginning of May! Although her husband assures me there was no magic, as them winning was a given, even back then Magic or no magic, they both love it and I’m so happy to finally be able to share this portrait of their gorgeous boys in their Liverpool shirts. I loved working on this project and used four different reference photos to get the right expressions, hair... and of course, shirts If you’d like me to create something special for you either message or email me x

24.01.2022 Just in case you need to hear this today. I believe in you. And I am always here for a chat if the world seems tough xx

23.01.2022 And here is the process video for my first upcycled frame from my 100 day project starting with the original frame.

22.01.2022 Im sure there must be a word in a different language to describe the joy and happiness I felt to be lunching, talking and drinking wine with my sister, Roxanne on a Friday afternoon again.

21.01.2022 This is my super happy excited face I am so proud of myself for figuring out how to create an online shop where you can buy my colourful art or commission something unique, and for figuring out how to create a Facebook page. But my biggest grateful moment is for the support I have received from my gorgeous friends. I have just finished my first commission. Its for a gift, so I cant share it yet, but Im really proud of it and cant wait to show you. ... Thank you so much for liking and sharing my page, and for all of your beautiful, supportive comments xx

21.01.2022 Oops!! I’m up to day 25 of my 100 day project and I haven’t shared anything here. I’ve been having fun making the effort to do a little something creative for myself everyday. And I figured out how to do a time lapse art video without having to ask my teenager for help!! So I’m feeling really quite clever I’ve been sharing each day on Instagram in stories. I rarely remember to look at FB stories, do you use FB stories? Should I share in stories on FB too?

20.01.2022 Em and I had fun shopping at Adelaide Showground Farmers Market this morning, and there will be orange and almond cake in our futures Meanwhile, Ive been doing some online workshops and I was so happy with this abstract created for Make Art That Sells March assignment I had it printed on canvas. Now to find a home for it

20.01.2022 I’ve been having fun this week dreaming of summer and playing along with Charly Clements Illustration fun with faces challenge. I love pushing myself to practice more and create something quickly (although I quite often look back and see a bunch of stuff I’d change )

20.01.2022 Im so lucky to have these three people in my life. I know that for lots of people Mothers Day is really tough. That knowledge makes me cherish these three even more. Topping my list of grateful moments for today are the beautiful relationships I have with my step son, my daughter, and especially my beautiful mum. Love you all xxx

20.01.2022 I am super excited to have another frame finished for my 100 day project. Technically, today is day 122, in other words I should be finished and onto my next project!! However, it’s day 75 for me, and I am totally okay with that! I know I’ve shared a work in progress of her already, but I decided that she is worth a second share, looking all tidy in her frame, and a reminder that you are , , and can do amazing things, even if it takes a little longer than you planned!!

19.01.2022 Really happy to have delivered this gorgeous portrait last week. I had so much fun with the process and am so happy with how it turned out. Ive still got some spaces free in June, so let me know if youd like me to create something unique for you.

18.01.2022 Ive been practicing my animation skills and am super proud of how this gorgeous cyclist turned out. I used to ride my bike all the time, and I havent ridden it for ages. I had so much fun drawing and animating her, I really want to dust my bike off and go for a ride. Now that we can get out and about more does anyone have fun plans for the weekend? Or are you still enjoying hanging out at home with no need to rush or look at the time?

18.01.2022 Had a busy week working on lots of fun projects. When I start losing steam, I’ll pop some Dolly on and let her music inspire me. What’s your favourite Dolly tune to play as you smash through your to do list?

18.01.2022 Well, that took way longer than I expected!! I started this in the school holidays, inspired by taking mirror selfies with Em, but between work, custom art, soccer, indecisiveness and an over-complicated concept (outfits inspired by Gucci - what was I thinking!!). Lets just say Im happy to finally be sharing it! If youd like something unique created, send me a message, I have some spots available for August

17.01.2022 According to my friend Helen, if your feed isnt full of cute animals, youre not doing social media right. So, here are two of the goodest, good girls to cheer up your Wednesday, all dressed up, because on Wednesdays we wear pink With thanks to Nala and Ellie for being the most beautiful models

17.01.2022 Today is the first official trial game of the season for Em, and even though I might complain about being a soccer mum, I actually love watching her play. I created this illustration of Duncan’s son nearly a year ago, after he saw this illustration I’d shared of Em on Instagram. At that point I didn’t really think that people would want to buy my portraits and am so grateful for the confidence boost he gave me. Even though life is a whole lot busier than it was back in Apri...l, I am still thankful for everyone’s support and encouragement and am loving creating portraits to celebrate your special moments. PS no idea why I didn’t share this when I first made it PPS Go Comets PPPS If you’re still reading, wow, thank you xxx

14.01.2022 I am super excited to share this portrait inspired by Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe prints, and commissioned as a birthday gift back in February. I loved working with Rob on this project, we had a very tight deadline, but were able to figure out a plan to work around not having enough time to have it professionally printed before Georgie's birthday. It was such a fun project to work on. I loved playing with colour and creating a more abstract portrait than I normally do, and I... especially loved getting to know Rob and Georgie through the process. Let me know if you have an event coming up and need a unique gift. While I do like to have plenty of notice to plan my work-load, I can often be flexible if you need help at the last minute!

12.01.2022 Some summer colour to brighten up this cold wintery day. I’ve had so much fun making these colourful collage ladies, and throwing all of the colour and pattern at them! Did you watch this with volume on do you love this song too??

12.01.2022 So happy to be sharing this illustration, I’m really proud of how it turned out. I’ve loved working with Rebecca Mumford to help her promote the Greenhill Living Garden Girls. Bec is passionate about working with schools and kindys to connect kids to how our food grows. If you’re interested in getting involved, head over to her website, she currently has special pricing for her online programme.

11.01.2022 Because sometimes there are no words and you just have to be a bit sweary. I don’t think I will ever hear ‘Mamma Mia’ again without tearing up. Thinking of you and your beautiful girls Jay, and remembering Nicole.

09.01.2022 So excited to finally share my first upcycled frame. It has only taken 34 days to get there!! The question is now what to do with it? (I’ll share a video of the process separately, for some reason FB won’t let me share photos and videos in the same post. If anyone knows a work around, I’d love to know it!)

08.01.2022 Ive been struggling to get my creative motivation going this last couple of weeks as Ive been reading and listening and learning and thinking about the ways in which I am unintentionally racist and how I can call myself out and do better. One thing I have done is practice my calligraphy to create this acknowledgment of country which Ill print and put near our front door as an every day reminder that we are living and working on the lands of the Kaurna people

08.01.2022 Ive been busy working on a fun new project with my friend and ex-neighbour Bec, from Greenhill Living Ive especially loved getting to spend more time together with her. Bec commissioned this as a birthday gift for her twin sister to celebrate their love of trail running. Cant wait to share the next piece with you

07.01.2022 Ive found it hard to get myself inspired to create lately. I think Ive been feeling too much pressure to create perfect illustrations for sharing. On the weekend I started drawing this girl, just for fun and not to share, but she evolved into a series of beautiful women and after having an amazing conversation with a new friend, I had to share how happy I am with how lovely they all are. Hope youre all having a great start to the week and finding things that make you happy

07.01.2022 I’ve been having so much fun working on a series of colourful women and making a massive mess cutting and pasting. I had a fabulous girls night mini-break this weekend, and am feeling inspired for the week ahead, and ready to get creative. Time with girlfriends is so good for the soul. What’s been inspiring you this weekend?... PS if you watch this with volume on apologies for the ear worm

05.01.2022 That was another big weekend of learning new skills! I am super happy to have now added a blog to my new website. My first post is live and is all about me. Pour yourself a glass of wine or a cup of tea and head on over to https://sandragalestudio.com/blog/twelve-facts-about-sandra

05.01.2022 I wrapped up the fun with faces Summer themed drawing challenge with these gorgeous girls. [Day 7 prompts: glasses, head scarf and honey bee. Day 6 prompts: Long hair, straw hat and travel]

03.01.2022 I’ve been going back through some of last years work. I love this portrait I created of these gorgeous cousins to be used as Christmas gifts for the family

03.01.2022 ‘I am enough’ is my everyday mantra, personal reminder that I am enough just as I am, and to worry less about what other people think, and the expectations I put on myself. As a parent of a year 12, it is a struggle (that I am embarrassed to admit) to separate my ego from her outcomes but this mantra helps Please tell me I am not alone in this, do you sometimes find it hard to seperate your ego from your kid’s activities??... And, in case you could do with reminding, you are enough too

02.01.2022 I’ve been having fun this weekend playing with collage again. I shared this girl over on Instagram and there was a suggestion that she would look great on a t-shirt. What do you think? Should I look at doing t-shirts?

01.01.2022 When I'm working on an illustration the world disappears, everything flows and before I know it, I've skipped lunch and I’m busting for the toilet . Thank goodness Em gets herself to and from school now, so I don’t get in trouble for forgetting to pick her up any more!! For me, it's drawing, painting, cutting and pasting to get in the creative flow, but being creative isn’t only about traditional 'art'. It could be baking or gardening or even planning your outfits for the ...week. And, if you chat to someone who loves numbers, they’ll tell you maths can be super creative too. I’d love to know, when do you lose track of time and what gets you in your creative FLOW?

01.01.2022 Kicked off my birthday week catching up for lunch with Jack and Tess. Thanks to their most excellent gift my art process video game is now feeling very professional! I’ve gone from my phone balancing on a giant stack of books to actually having a tripod. I’m not quite sure what it says about my personality that my first project was to go through my collage off cuts and see what I could make
