15.01.2022 Haha, this sounds familiar, can anyone else relate?

15.01.2022 Doing some family tree research again today and following up on messages that I sent people who have a DNA connection with myself and my family. One connection I haven't been able to work out for over a year has been finally answered and all falls into place. My Great Grandmother had an Illegitimate son Thomas born 1900 who we didn't know anything about and my Grandfather, who is deceased, never knew about. Now the hunt is on to find Thomas's father as he is not mentioned on... the Birth Certificate. I also have his Marriage Certificate and see what information I can obtain from that once I enter it in Ancestry and dwell into my research! What road-blocks have you overcome in your family research? Happy researching!!

15.01.2022 Only a Genealogist would understand!

15.01.2022 I love it when I can pass on family connections to a families that I did their Ancestry family tree for. Now the two families can chat and share memories and their ancestry history, even though they live in worlds apart with one in England, UK and the other in Perth, Australia!

01.01.2022 MAIDEN NAME Researching a maiden name can sometimes be tricky and the best place to find a maiden name is from a marriage certificate, marriage license or a marriage bann. These documents will also show the maiden names of the bride and groom mothers, including any Witnesses who were present at the marriage. ... For example this Certificate shows my 3rd Great Grandparents William Mackie & Catherine Gray, who were married in 1865. It also show their parents (my 4th Great Grandparents) name, including their mothers maiden name and their Witnesses, who are also family members.
