24.01.2022 Did you know that the first stage of detoxification by the liver requires B VITAMINS for that process to occur? Our best sources of B vitamins are whole grains and yet many people cut them out, especially with this high protein era we are currently experiencing. Many people feel better without them, and I am by no means suggesting you eat bucketloads of grains to get your B vitamins, but it’s important to realise that by cutting food groups out of the diet, we can miss out... on nutrients critical for optimal health and in this case, liver cleansing. Choose a wide variety of wholefoods and perhaps try some gluten free grains in moderation to ensure you are not missing out on those B vitamins from wholefoods.
23.01.2022 Regardless of blood type, clinical research clearly indicates that a plant-based diet is better for health from both a preventative and restorative point of view. The A blood type, with a decreased need for animal protein, as well as the inability to digest it, must be very careful not to create toxicity in a digestive tract ill equipped to properly manage it. Unlike the O blood type, the A has the lowest levels of stomach acid as well as the almost complete lack of a valu...able enzyme called Intestinal Alkaline Phosphatase. The lack of this enzyme is the key factor that puts the A type at a disadvantage and makes meat a cancer and heart disease risk, as it is this enzyme that is largely responsible for breaking down animal fat. The A type was born of scarcity and a plant based diet with legumes, nuts and seeds provides plenty of good quality protein for the often fragile digestive system. We now know that a high protein diet, without enough vegetables and fruits to neutralize the toxic by products and harmful acid waste, takes its toll. This is especially true for the A blood type individual. Bad lifestyle habits, including insufficient daily exercise, alcohol, smoking and especially STRESS, ensures the A type is heading for a miserable life of the same old degenerative diseases, with Cancer and Heart Disease high on the list. So the bottom line is, eat your fruit and vegetables... 5-7 different types of fruit and vegetables daily to cover the hundred plus nutrients and several thousand phyto-nutrients needed by the body each day.
19.01.2022 Let me introduce you to my JUST NO list. When it comes to edible products.. (I can’t even call them foods) that are no good, I put them in my JUST NO list. I love this list because these things are non negotiable NOS. I would NEVER allow my kids to eat or drink them.... I don’t sniff glue, so why the heck would I eat off this list?! So, this one definitely makes the JUST NO hit list. The good old Aussie JATZ. Don’t be fooled people!! I don’t care if it is round and crispy and cute! Or a little party fun or sitting next to some hummus on a good looking platter. Do not be fooled by these innocent looking bystanders on the BBQ picnic table! Ingredients in order of quantity as follows: Wheat flour (cheap nasty flour containing glyphosate, that’s Round Up, the stuff you kill weeds with and is a carcinogen). Rancid vegetable oil (probably Canola - one of the most deadly poisons you can put in your body) sugar in huge amounts (no explanation needed) Sodium (aka bad quality, processed salt which contains aluminium fluoride as an anti-caking agent) also in high amounts. Baking powder (also cheap and nasty containing aluminium fluoride). Yeast (no good!) E304 & E307B (Antioxidants from GMO Soy - also bad). MMMM....JUST NO!!! Health is not only about the healthy foods we eat, but just as much about what we need to leave at the supermarket. This one is definitely on the JUST NO list!

I feel in the not so far future, fitness programs such as torturous 6 week booty challenges, will all be a thing of the past and the focus will be on LOVING YOUR BODY to good health and glowing good looks. Instead of being focused on outside appearances, self image, and Instagram worthy bods, the focus is shifting to SELF LOVE, being yourself and being truly healthy & happy from the inside out.. letting go of the false ideal of perfection that is ...not only so destructive mentally & emotionally, but also so destructive on a persons physical health.
