22.01.2022 Samurai ST (Jaybee Calibre x Swing Time Gazelle). 3 weeks old - we should have called him Show Off ST!!!

16.01.2022 Sadly one of our competition horses has left our stables to become a mum. This means we have an opening for a horse to come to us for training or selling. We... are a boutique stable on the central coast and only have a limited amount of numbers so that we can give every individual horse the time and attention they need. Please DM me or contact me on 0467222241 for more information. See more

14.01.2022 Training Ember in a different environment (Proof Training). As a horse person it is very important to understand that horses are ‘context specific learners’: as the horse learns he makes associations between the behaviour he is performing and the location he performs it in. This is why some people exclaim when they go to a show or clinic ‘he never does this at home...’... When you go to a new location or environment you are testing the depth or hardiness of your training. Have I REALLY trained this response to happen anywhere anytime from this cue alone OR is the environment (the context) helping me? In a horse like Ember (with history) I would expect there to be some regression in her responses, and there was, but it was minor. A little bit of wanting to spook on the lunge (hence the big ‘stop’ you see). A little heavy in her responses under saddle to start with. But in essence she was perfect. As you see in the end basically the same horse she is at home. As it should be. As a rule of thumb it takes FIVE PERFECT CONSECUTIVE changes of context in order to consider your responses ‘Proof’ trained. So if you are training a horse... do him a favour and take him out multiple times to nice quiet locations like this one and then add some horses (like go to a clinic next) BEFORE you take him ‘too his first show’... His first show SHOULD NOT BE HIS FIRST OUTING if you care for your own and his mental health. I’m not saying you can’t do it... but you are playing with fire if you choose too

12.01.2022 It has been announced that horses competing in FEI events will no longer be able to have their whiskers shaved from July, 2021. The FEI Online General Assembly,... which took place on 23 November, voted in a range of new rules and regulations - one of which was the banning of trimming a horse’s sensory hairs. The rule, which forms part of the FEI veterinary regulations, will apply to horses across all disciplines competing in FEI events.... 07.01.2022 The challenge here is to meet every pole at the center and on a perpendicular line... making a ‘squrcle’ (square circle ). . Much harder than it looks and a test of your and your horses ability to maintain line, rhythm and tempo. A simple exercise that is not easy . Credit goes to my long term mentor @finchfarm1 for this one ... . Maryanne did good!!! . #equestrian #equestriancoach #horse #horses #dressage #showjumping #eventing #equestrianlife #esigraduate #equestrianscience See more

06.01.2022 Float loading revision no. 2 Amelia is a 10 yr old unbroken mare. Prob’s had a handful of float loading lessons (and maybe 2 trips) if she’s lucky in her lifetime. Tuesday was revision no. 1 in which she dragged me around the paddock, and ‘success’ involved standing with two feet at the top of the tail gate without trying to piss off backwards (shame I didn’t film that ).... But clearly I had a win regarding control of those running legs and today was faultless. This is rep 2 and 3. Rep 1 looked exactly like rep 2.
