25.01.2022 Tuesday, November 24th - STABLEFORD - 27 players today with some very good scores on the new 18 holes at Sandringham - beautiful weather for golf and many favourable comments made regarding the new holes. Sixty mls of rain last weekend meant that there were a few damp spots, with the bunkers worst affected, but the ground staff had worked hard yesterday to improve the wet areas. Next Tuesday is our last official game for 2020 but I'm sure many members will keep playing over... the summer break. Tuesday December 8th we look forward to our Christmas break up lunch at the Savoy in Brighton. For all today's results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com A huge thank you to our Committee for all their hard work during difficult times, especially our Captain Carmen Scillio who has been working hard on our new score cards. In conjunction with the other clubs who play at Sandringham Carmen has been involved with the rating of each hole. Next year we will be playing from the Orange tees with a slope rating of 120 but on a couple of occasions will play from the Purple tees with a rating of 124. See more

For all of todays results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com

24.01.2022 Tuesday, November 26th - We start on a sad note today as we remember past member Peg Broughton who passed away last Saturday and send our condolences to Pegs daughter Pam and family. Guest Day and AMBROSE competition at Sandringham - we need the rain but it didnt appear today and hopefully is pouring down in East Gippsland. We welcomed back three guests today who had been members at Sandringham - Jenny Evans, Ronda Henderson and Dot George - thank you for taking part in ...todays fun game and I believe Dot was in the winning team. For todays results please visit our Web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Thank you to Captain Carmen who is going to clean the Club honour boards, photograph them and in a few weeks time place those photos on the Web site. Next week we have 5 groups playing 9 holes at Brighton before to have our Christmas lunch and Trophy presentation at the Savoy in Brighton. See more

24.01.2022 Tuesday, July 14th - 9 hole Stableford event for all players. Even though we are in lock down again we are very fortunate to be able to play golf - in pairs but only 9 holes. The weather was fine this morning, even sunshine at times and we are hoping for more sun this week to help dry out the course - still some very boggy spots. For all of todays results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Next week will be another 9 holes of Stableford.... Because of the previous lock down and now only playing 9 holes in the coming weeks/months, the Club will not be able to award the Nett Aggregate trophies for A&B, nor the E.L. Stephenson Putting trophy - these are the best 6 out of 8 cards in Stroke and of course we missed out on our 3 Club Championship rounds which are normally played in May. We will need to wait and see if other trophies are affected, e.g. the President and Captain trophy, Life Members, Peg Broughton. Fortunately we are all well so have much to be thankful for and can only hope that 2021 is a good year for all. See more

22.01.2022 Tuesday, June 16th - a cloudy and breezy day for STABLEFORD today and I hope everyone was finished before the showers arrived. For todays results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com

22.01.2022 Tuesday, June 9th - STABLEFORD - beanies, hand warmers and scarves were the order of the day for the start of our Stableford competition. However it wasnt long before some of the layers disappeared - beautiful sunshine, perfect weather for the field of 26 eighteen hole players and 4 nine hole players. Pro shop staff have set up tables and chairs outside the marquee (social distancing of course) lovely to sit in the sun and enjoy coffee and toasted sandwiches from the cafe. Keep checking our web site for the results at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com

22.01.2022 Tuesday, October 22nd - 4BBB Stableford and the AGM. A perfect day for golf at Sandringham and some great scores recorded. Longest Drive A grade on the 4th hole was Helen Bright and the NTP on the 6th hole, 2nd shot was Debbie Skelton. Nine hole competition, Stableford - winner - Pauline Howlett ...(38) 17 points and NTP on the 9th hole - Pauline Howlett. Next week we play Stableford. At the 2019 AGM we welcomed in the Committee for 2020. Thank you to the following members who have volunteered for these positions - without their efforts we would not be able to run a successful club. President - Mary Clarke. Vice Presidents - Flo Box and Marianne Latham. Captain - Carmen Scillio. Vice Captain - Jenny Fitzgerald. Secretary - Helen Arrowsmith. Treasurer - Dianne Round. Handicapper - Christine Montgomery. General Committee members, Marie Hall and Ann Philpot. Remember the Christmas lunch and Trophy Presentations are at the Savoy on December 3rd and instead of Kris Kringle, members are asked to support "Share the Dignity" by filling a handbag with personal items for women who are homeless. There will be no golf on that day as Sandringham will be closed. See more

19.01.2022 Monday, May 11th - greetings everyone, another week to clean your shoes and polish the clubs as well be back at Sandringham on Tuesday May 19th. I guess now we have to wait and see if we only play 9 holes in pairs or whether we will be in groups of 3 or 4 and maybe play 18 holes. Hopefully the Keysborough driving range might reopen this week, would be good to brush off the cobwebs! Stay safe everyone and keep up with the social distancing, hand washing etc. so that we all make it safely through these difficult times.

19.01.2022 Tuesday, July 7th - STABLEFORD - a mild day for golf with the on and off drizzle a good test for waterproof bags, hats and jackets! 19.01.2022 Tuesday, July 28th - 9 holes Stableford - a very pleasant morning for our golf today, everyone wearing masks and great to see the course drying out somewhat. Work happening on the 7th hole, drainage and turf repair, meant it was out of action today but luckily a par 3 between the 1st and 2nd holes made up the nine holes and again there were some very good scores returned. Our scores wont be entered into golf link but we still had a competition and you will find the winner and runner up on our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com We hope the fine weather will continue and look forward to another 9 holes of Stableford next week.

18.01.2022 Tuesday September 10th - Stableford - a cloudy but fine day at Sandringham today. Next week is Stroke and the second round of the September Gold Medal. For all todays results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com

18.01.2022 Wednesday, June 10th - our wonderful Captain Carmen has updated the web site with Tuesdays winners and runners up - visit the site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com It is a busy time for all on our Committee and Captain as someone has to register players on One Golf and then our scores have to be put on Golf Link - before the CoVid 19 we did our own registration on arrival and then entered our scores on completion of the round. This is now done by a Committee member, thank you!

17.01.2022 Tuesday, May 26th - Practice 18 holes at Sandringham. The thick fog put a spanner in the works but 7 determined ladies waited for an hour and a half (we thought it may have been longer!). Suddenly the fog lifted and we were off - after our warm up exercises of course and we decided to play from the purple domes for a different experience. The course is looking great and the weather was beautiful, sunny and warm, it wasnt long before the layers came off. Next week were hoping for another lovely day for our first official competition since March 24th.

17.01.2022 Tuesday, March 10th - PAR - a chilly start but beautiful day for Par today at Sandringham - tee shirts at the end of the game! We dont play many Par games and it is a game which makes you concentrate - square and minus 1 were good scores! Next week we play 4BBB PAR in pairs with the second round on March 24th - an end of year trophy. For all results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com

16.01.2022 Tuesday, July 21st - 9 holes Stableford. A chilly start to the morning with fog rolling in from the bay but fortunately not thick enough to delay the start of our first pair at 7.54. Even a shower of rain at one stage was not enough to stop many players from returning excellent scores. For todays results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Next week we will be playing another nine holes of Stableford and wearing our masks - stay safe everyone.

16.01.2022 Thursday, February 9th - Happy New Year and hopefully all our members and their families are safe during these trying times. Although we dont start our golfing year until February 4th, members of our Committee have been busy - check out our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Captain Carmen has been busy having the Honour Boards updated and has posted photos of them on the web site. There are also many lovely photos taken at our 2019 Christmas luncheon and trophy presentation. Thanks also must go to Pauline Howlett for producing our first "Sandy Snippets" for 2020. See you on February 4th for our 18 hole Stableford game, 1st round of the Joan Hope Memorial trophy and the start of Eclectic cards, Birdies and Gobblers.

15.01.2022 Tuesday, October 27th - another fine and windy day at Sandringham for 9 holes of golf this morning - 24 members played plus one visitor and although there was no official competition we were able to leave our cards/scores to be handicapped. Next week, although a public holiday, some of our ladies will have a hit as we have to pre pay our green fees anyway and we will be able to play in groups of 4! Stay well everyone and happy golfing.

15.01.2022 Tuesday, November 19th - STABLEFORD - a lovely day for golf at Sandringham, cloudy then sunny and a light breeze - perfect weather for some wonderful scores. For all of todays results please visit our Web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Next week we have Guest Day and the event is Ambrose in teams of 3 or 4 and the forecast is for good weather. This is our last game at Sandringham for 2019 and when we return on February 4th 2020 we will be playing on 9 of the new holes so will need to sharpen our bunker skills!

15.01.2022 Tuesday, February 4th - OPENING DAY - Stableford. 1st round of the Joan Hope Memorial Trophy, commencement of Eclectic, Birdies and Gobblers. A lovely day for golf today, the first game for the year on the new nine holes - beautiful greens and the fairways are coming along nicely. Quite a challenge for some with the extra bunkers but others did very well! It was also the first time we had used the new booking and score system through MiGolf - well done to all members for their patience and skills in doing so well on the first day. Next week is Stroke, the Monthly Star Medal for the best nett score and also the first round of the Sandringham Plate which is played over 4 rounds throughout the year. For all of todays results please visit our Web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com

14.01.2022 Tuesday, June 23rd - STROKE - Monthly Star Medal and Putting. Fortunately the predicted showers disappeared early so seventeen 18 hole players and five 9 hole players enjoyed lovely weather at Sandringham today. Two players will have a "play off" on the next Stroke round on July 14th or a competition day which suits them both as there was a draw and the Monthly star medal cannot be decided on a count back. For all results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Next week the competition is Stableford.

14.01.2022 Tuesday, May 19th - were back! A healthy field of 18 hole and 9 hole players today - lovely day for golf, cloudy with some brief sun and the odd strong breeze. Our first game for 8 weeks so it was just a practice Stableford round and the same will happen next week then the Competition will begin in earnest on June 2nd. Were still on the new nine holes playing the loop for 18 holes but looking forward to the new 18 holes on November. Pity about the increase in green fees from $35.00 (for Bayside residents) to $39.00, even more if you dont live in the area - but hey, weve only been supporting Sandringham Golf Links for 82 years!! Happy golfing everyone.

14.01.2022 Tuesday, March 3rd - Stroke - March monthly star medal. Good conditions for golf today and some excellent scores returned. Congratulations to Captain Carmen, our monthly star medal winner for March with a fine nett of 65. 12.01.2022 Wednesday, October 21st - back on the course! Yesterday in lovely sunshine, many of our members were back playing nine holes of golf at Sandringham -this was just a social/practice round but was enjoyed by all We played in pairs and on the nine holes previously used before the lock down but hopefully we will be playing the new 18 holes by the end of November. The course is looking great, obviously some of the problems with drainage have been attended to and we can't wait to see the other new 9 holes. We are fortunate that all our members live within the 25 km limit for travel and although we couldn't stay and socialize after play, it was great to see friends again - recognition a bit tricky at times with longer hair, masks, sunglasses and visors!

10.01.2022 Tuesday, October 8th - "Pink Ball" Stableford. Showery, breezy, sunny - we had it all at Sandringham today but overall the weather was much better than we anticipated and we had a field of twelve 18 hole players and six nine hole players. To match our Pink Ball competition, everyone wore a touch of pink and the "Best Dressed" award went to Helen Arrowsmith, pink glittery shoes, pink clothes, phone, wallet, even her buggy was decorated in pink and also Cath Harden who feature...d pink cardigan, pink earrings and beautiful pink Fairy wings! The Runners up were Debbie Skelton, Helen Bright, Carol Martin and Fiona Kirwan-Hamilton with a total of 64 points. The Winners were Margaret Gobolyos, Sue McGibbony, Annie NIven and Rhonda Cosgriff with a total of 71 points. Unfortunately the nine hole players only wrote down the Pink Ball score and not the next best but we thank them for taking part and joining us for lunch and the presentations. The Longest drive, A&B on the 5th hole was won by Carol Martin. There were also prizes for those who had an "air shot", for the "shortest drive" and for the lady who lost the pink ball on the 5th hole, but they shall remain nameless. Many thanks to Vice Captain and acting Captain Carol Martin for donating all the prizes today and for wearing a most resplendent pink wig! Next week is Stroke - the Monthly Star Medal, 4th round of the Sandringham Plate and Putting Prize so we hope to see as many ladies as possible. See more

10.01.2022 Friday, March 20th - Tirhatuan Salver. Today Pauline Howlett, Carol Martin and Debbie Skelton represented the club at the Tirhatuan Salver, an 18 holes Stablef...ord team event. There were 12 teams in the competition with Tirhatuan winning their own salver with a total of 98 points. We came in at 5th place, thanks to a fine 34 points scored by Pauline who was runner up on a count back in B Grade. Pauline was also successful in winning a raffle! If ever we needed an inspiration to keep playing, A grade was won by Anna Tie from Tirhatuan, 86 years young, 14 times Club champion, playing off a handicap of 22 with 39 points. I was playing in her group and we all asked Anna for a lesson after the game! See more

09.01.2022 Wednesday, December 4th - Christmas lunch and Trophy presentation. Forty members enjoyed a beautiful lunch at the Savoy in Brighton yesterday, great food, wine and conversation. 08.01.2022 Tuesday, November 17th - Stableford - perfect weather for a round of golf this morning and the last time we had to play the double loop for 18 holes - we won't miss the long walk between the 3rd and 4th holes then back again between the 9th and 10th! Next week we will play the new 18 hole course and will be among the first group of players to check out the new layout. For today's results please visit our web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com

08.01.2022 Tuesday, February 18th - Match Play in pairs. Greetings from Swifts Creek where the rain has finally arrived at 7 oclock, about 12mls in 15 minutes after much thunder! Captain Carmen has sent an email explaining todays game and I was sorry to read that adverse storm conditions meant that many members were wet and the competition had to be reduced to nine holes. For all todays results please visit out web site at www.sandringhamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Next week is Stableford and the second round of the Joan Hope Memorial Trophy.

07.01.2022 Tuesday, June 2nd - Stableford - luckily another fine day for our first official competition since we started back at "Sandringham Lakes" - so much rain this year that there were a few new "lakes" on the course, the ducks enjoying swimming in some of the bunkers! The greens are wonderful and some of the new ones we could see are looking great. We had another good field of 18 hole and 9 hole players and fro todays results please check the Sandringham Web site at www.sandrin...ghamgolfclubassociatesinc.com Note there are no Longest Drives or NTP events yet, given that we are being very careful in not handling markers, flags, rakes, buckets etc. Thanks to Geoff Thornton from Sandringham Golf Club (Saturday Club) for donating sand buckets so we could have our own individual buckets to help take care of the course - lots of big divots out there! Thanks also to Craig and Sean in the Pro Shop for setting up tables and chairs today so we could sit outside and enjoy the lovely coffee and food provided by Tammy and Lucy. Some of our wonderful Committee members are taking it in turns to collect the score cards and process them at home after the game and we are grateful for this. Finally a very happy birthday to our President, Mary Clarke, who will be celebrating this Thursday, June 4th - have a lovely day Mary. See more

05.01.2022 Tuesday, November 3rd - a very warm and breezy day at Sandringham today for a relaxing 9 or 18 holes of golf - no official competition but we could put our scores in if good enough! Lovely to be able to sit outside with a cool drink or coffee after the game - Tammy had the day off but Sean and Angela coped very well on the coffee machine with Craig lending a hand taking orders! Next week looks like being another fine day and most of us looking forward to playing 18 holes (the double loop) but can't wait until November 24th when the new 18 hole course will open - Sandringham ladies being among the first people to check out the other new 9 holes - maybe a bubbles or two to celebrate? Stay safe everyone and happy golfing.

04.01.2022 Tuesday, November 12th - Stroke, Monthly Star Medal, Putting prize, last round for Eclectic and end of year trophies. Even though there were showers forecast, we enjoyed lovely weather at Sandringham today, just a little breezy at times. Next week we play Stableford and it is the last round for Birdies and Gobblers. The following week is our Guest day and we are playing "Ambrose" in teams of three or four with prizes for members and guests. Our end of year Christmas lunch... and Trophy presentation on December 3rd will again be at the Savoy in Brighton - because the Sandringham course will be closed, a nine hole event has been organised at the Brighton Golf Course - plenty of time for 9 holes before lunch at 1230. Remember that instead of giving gifts to one another we are again supporting the organisation "Share the Dignity". 01.01.2022 Tuesday, August 11th - second week without hitting that little white ball around but lets hope if all are respecting the restrictions in this stage 4 lock down we will be back out on the course sooner rather than later. Had a lovely call from President Mary yesterday, again our wonderful Committee touching base with all members. Hopefully when we return we will see some improvements to those areas which were somewhat soggy and of course were so looking forward to eventually playing the whole new 18 holes. Stay safe everyone!
