20.01.2022 Get ready to be WOWed! - our online Art Show is now live! Over the last few months, our artists, both new and experienced, have worked tirelessly to put together a showcase that is truly extraordinary who knew we had such talented participants, volunteers, staff and children in our community. Each piece in the exhibition represents the artist’s interpretation and their connection to our beautiful Bayside area. The show has been cleverly produced as a video to give you the... sense that you are viewing the show in ‘real life’. Our website also contains information about the winners, some of our artist’s stories and the opportunity to purchase artworks that are for sale through the Artwork for Sale section. We also invite you to vote for your favourite piece which will go towards deciding which artist will win the People’s Choice Award! We hope you will be as impressed by the efforts of our creative and talented community as we are! Please visit www.sandybeach.org.au/artexhibition Here is 1st prize winner - 'Over the Bay' by Anne Tompson.

19.01.2022 What a delight it has been to receive some photos of the beautiful paintings some of our REACH clients are working on with their Activity Packs provided by Tina, one of our art tutors. Today's showcase is from Peggy, who just loves spending time in her garden and painting plants and nature. Peggy is a participant in our Art Beat, Art for All and a number of other programs. Thank you for sharing Peggy, you are very talented and we are so glad we can stay connected with you during these times.

19.01.2022 Social Inclusion Week continues - one of our participants, Robyn Shaddick has been kind enough to allow us to profile her involvement with our online programs. Robyn has been enjoying a number of our programs & we hope by sharing this story, it will encourage others to get involved too! We are currently exploring ways that we can continue to support our community in accessing online programs through targeted assistance. ... Getting to know you - Robyn Shaddick What programs did you attend prior to March? Fit and Fabulous and Pilates. How long have you been coming to us? On and off for the last thirty years! What programs are you doing online with us? Fit and Fabulous on Tuesday with Elana and Pilates three times a week with Pennie. Had you done any online learning prior to joining our online classes? No, I was completely new to it. Were you apprehensive about any aspect of online learning? Not really. There was plenty of information from Sandybeach about the process and even though my computer skills are fairly basic, it was no problem at all. Joining a zoom session is very simple - just clicking on a link in an email from the tutor! I would encourage anyone to give it a try - you will get plenty of support! What advantages have you found to online learning? It is really convenient to be able to do it at home - no worrying about the weather, traffic, parking and it takes less of your day without the travel. It is also great to see the other members of the class and the tutor and maintain that social contact. Have you found it has helped to maintain your connection to Sandybeach during lockdown? Yes! Along with the regular phone calls and the newsletter, this is another level of connection to the Centre which I love. Thank you for sharing Robyn and glad to hear you have enjoyed the programs so much! For all the details of our online program, visit our website. https://www.sandybeach.org.au/online-courses
