23.01.2022 This week is Frog ID week! We were out at the Sandy Creek Centre friday night and caught a pic of this little one eyeing off a nearby cricket. We also found a number of green tree frogs hanging out around the water tank for friday night drinks. Go explore your backyard, nearby park or creek with your family this week. Afternoons or evenings are best, so take a torch with you. Don't forget to download the FrogID App and submit your frog recordings to add to the scientific kn...owledge on Australian frogs. Get outside and explore! #frogidweek #retreatexplorediscover #FrogIDapp #sandycreekcentre

19.01.2022 Are you thinking of making tracks this weekend? It is a great time of year to retreat into nature and go explore somewhere new. Here are some tracks made by a Sandy Creek Centre local, can you guess who? #sandycreekcentre #weekendwildtracks #makintracks... #whostracksarethese See more

09.01.2022 Thank you everyone for your support. We have been contacted regarding the night time visit from last weekend and sorted out any misunderstanding. We are very conscious that some of our unexpected visitors are just curious and out exploring, which is why we won't be posting faces or vehicle regos. We would like to thank you for your honesty and friendly manner in which you contacted us!! We have deleted the images from our records and will update the police report. Thanks from the Sandy Creek Centre Management Team.

08.01.2022 Here is a great image our wildlife camera captured after tonights storm. A curious pair of eyes peeking over the top of the water tank spot a nice little pool of fresh cool rain water to bathe in! #frogspotting #sandycreekcentre #amphibiousactivity... #lovetherain See more

06.01.2022 The Australian Wild Pollinator Count begins today, running until Nov 15. Participants have to spend 10 minutes watching the same area or flower, and count the... number of pollinators that land in that time frame - as many times as you like. Pollinators to watch out for are bees, wasps, beetles, flies, or ants (yes, they count!) Ecologist Dr Manu Saunders says the biannual count helps researchers track species populations and behaviours, particularly in arid areas like the north west. You can submit your count to: https://wildpollinatorcount.com/

04.01.2022 Ssssssso the tracks we found last week were made by a sliding serpentine sunning itself on the track. As it made a slippery get away into the scrub we managed to snap this shot. Do you know what snake this is? Is it trouble for the unwary walker or silently seeking a safe place to find a feed? #knowyoursnakes #sandycreekcentre #retreatexplorediscover... #serpentineseekingsomethingtoeat See more

03.01.2022 Sometimes it's the little things that attract your attention. Take the time to just stop, be present in the moment, focus on what is close, discover the beauty that is always there. Have a great week! #minfulnessformonday... #greatweekahead #smallthingsinlife #retreatexplorediscover See more
