23.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. SHPS commemorated Remembrance Day this morning with a ceremony to honour the soldiers who fought for our freedom. Students paid respects by laying poppies as each of the local soldiers who lost their lives in the first world war names were read out. They then laid a wreath near the flagpoles, and dedicated a minute of silence to the deceased. Lest We Forget. #SHPS #RemembranceDay2020 #LestWeForget2020

20.01.2022 We had a fantastic day at One Mile Beach on Wednesday. Starting with surf lessons with Port Stephens Surf School then a quick lunch and a visit to the Port Stevens Koala Sanctuary.. There were some very tired students (and teachers) on the bus on the way home! #smallschoolsarefun #SHPS

18.01.2022 Today was the final day of SHPS Kindergarten Orientation. We have had a wonderful 6 weeks getting to know these students, who will join us for Kindergarten next year. The students were presented with a book, and a certificate to keep by Miss Cooper and Mrs Fuiono, their teachers for 2021. #SHPS #kinder2021 #smallschoolsarefun

17.01.2022 Reward day was enjoyed by all students today with an out of uniform day and ice cream sundaes! We have almost finished another fantastic term at SHPS. Thank you to all students who have exhibited brilliant behaviour throughout the term!

17.01.2022 There were a lot of curious creatures at SHPS today who took part in our annual Book Week Parade. We were fortunate again to be able to invite our parents to watch the parade (from outside the fence), and all creatures were excited to show off their book character costumes. Linda and Brett, Two Rivers Wines James and Heidi, Sandy Hollow Tourist Hotel Merv Saunders, Denman Men’s Shed Susie and Julie, Thimbles & Threads Amanda, Fresh Denman Sheryn, Sheryn's Beauty Spot Brett and Bridget, Denman Pharmacy Mary Butler Sharon, Village Emporium Marsha and David, Denman Rural Meg, Hunter Valley Liqueurs & Baerami Olives A huge thank you also to Mary Butler for organising the prizes for the raffle and to the Wybong Quilter's Group for making the quilt. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards updating technology at the school.

15.01.2022 Our annual Colour Explosion was held today, and lots of fun was certainly had by all students involved. We were excited to be able to invite parents to witness the fun (socially distant from outside the yard), and although they couldn't participate, it was nice to see them enjoying their first school event since March!

04.01.2022 SHPS annual Presentation Night was held last night under the open air in our beautiful school grounds. We were thankful for glorious weather as we congratulated the students of Sandy Hollow Public School on their achievements throughout the crazy year that was 2020! We also welcomed our new school leaders for 2021, and the students thanked the members of the school community for their contributions to the school this year. 03.01.2022 Staff, students, future students, and parents had a lovely morning getting to know each other at the first of our 2021 Kindergarten Orientation mornings. Although we were unable to meet at school, the children were able and get to know their 'big school' buddies, play, draw and chat while their parents enjoyed morning tea and an information session. We look forward to seeing them all on site from next week as they get ready to come to Sandy Hollow Public School in 2021! A huge thank you to our P&C for kindly donating new school hats for our kindergarten students. 03.01.2022 Day 2 of Kindergarten Orientation saw our future Kindergarten students finally being able to come in and explore, play, and learn at school.
