This has been a mammoth team effort, months in the planning & design. With our eye on this wall for over 12-months; thank you to Coles & Vysenet Pty Ltd for permission to paint. Thanks also to SSAP Grants Officer Anne Forwood Art... for the initial notion of a "Dog Wall" in Sandringham, & President @LesRausz for his tireless efforts liaising with artists, dog owners & installation contractors. This mighty project continues... We believe when all 3-Stages are completed - at 34m long & over 250 doggos - this will be an iconic Melbourne Bayside destination - a source of wonder for the local & greater communities, as well as benefiting local businesses in these unprecedented, tough times. 21.01.2022 STAGE THREE of our Sunny Daze project continues, with the completion of Vicroads Beach Road Signal Box No2 of 3 outside 15-17 Bay Rd thanks to Buxton Sandringham, Uncorked Wines, Bay Rd Fruit and Deli Market, Good Constructions and talented local Sandringham artist Melissa Grisancich. Melissa was surrounded by religious imagery and icons while growing up in Bayside Melbourne, now a multidiscipline artist with a bright and bold style reflecting 60-70’s vinyl record covers, ...renaissance, romanticism, vintage posters, comics and cartoons. Past projects include a portrait of Melbourne musician Courtney Barnett, achieving finalist status in the coveted Archibald Prize. Her work has been likened to "pop meets Frida Kahlo" - personal and sometimes autobiographical while reflecting her interest in surrealism, symbolism and iconography, with exhibitions throughout Australia, Europe, Japan and the USA. 20.01.2022 Watch These Walls #bamfieldgallery #sandyprimary We are super excited to announce this ambitious project partnership with Sandringham Primary School and the Friends of SPS led by Art Co-ordinator Sue Storr a giant 130m plus rambling mural to be painted along the Bamfield Street boundary; this timber hoarding erected after the horrendous fire that destroyed our much-loved, heritage listed primary school building. Although not our most difficult project, this is certainly o...ur biggest to date. And there is lots to sort before a dream like this can be realized, lots to do and a load of help needed.
