21.01.2022 The San Giorgio handyman have been at it again. Thanks to Mick and Tony Calvi, Peter Vitale, Tony Furfaro and Alf Messina for helping Mick Calvi with his vision for a new facade at the pizza /coffee stadium. It looks great and I can’t wait to have a pizza and coffee once we’re allowed up at Centro San Giorgio ... George Dolores President

19.01.2022 The year 2020 has been a difficult year for us due to the nature of the Covid 19 Pandemic, which has lead to us having to cancel all our functions since March this year. Due to the support of our wonderful sponsors the Committee had already commenced production of our Annual Festa Booklet in view to possibly holding the Festa at some time during the year. Unfortunately given the current Covid restrictions this will not be able to take place in 2020. Whist we have not been abl...e to have functions this has put a strain on our yearly income which is used to pay for the upkeep and statutory holdings costs of Centro San Giorgio. As such, given we are unable to meet with you this year to sell tickets through the use of our Drum committee we ask if you would kindly consider purchasing some tickets so that we may be able to start 2021 in a positive manner. Any purchase or donation is very much appreciated, and all monies will go towards paying to keep Centro San Giorgio operational during these difficult times. We will then draw the raffle in late November / early December hopefully at Centro San Giorgio and prize winners will be informed by phone and through our Social Media. A mail out of our Annual Festa Booklet and Tickets has commenced. If you do not receive one and are interested please reach out to a Committee Member, DM or via our email address [email protected]

11.01.2022 This weeks edition of ‘Turning Back Time’ comes from our Treasurer Andrew Papallo.. Here are his words To me this is a very special memory one which I’ve admired since a young child. Featured here are my great grandparents (Giorgio Papallo & Filomena Oppedisano) and their children. Initially they settled in Paddington and Inner city after arriving in the mid 1930’s. And finally establishing themselves in North Ryde. Being amongst some of the earliest arrivals Sydney, they were a support and point of reference for many of the paesani arriving in Sydney. We look forward to featuring your memories, please send us an email at: [email protected]

06.01.2022 Nathan Testa here. In this weeks edition of Turning Back Time, I would like to share with you all a photo of my late Nonno, Rocco Fuda pictured at his fruit shop Fuda’s Fruit Bowl, which was located at St Ives Shopping Village. As a business owner, this is very so inspiring to see. Thinking about all the hard work my Nonno put into his business, working it from the ground up. I’m a very proud grandson. These photos will be passed down many generations to come. ... Want to showcase memories? Please reach us at: [email protected]

04.01.2022 To our San Giorgio community and supporters. For obvious reasons, our 2020 AGM was limited by numbers. Here is a video message from our President George Dolores. Congratulations to all the 2020 committee that were re-elected again for 2021. ... Viva San Giorgio!

03.01.2022 A big thank you to my young team lead by Andrew and Anthony Papallo. We had 2 days and 1 night of tree and general cleanup culminating in a 24 hour big burn. The boys worked hard and ate hard with master chef Rocco at the helm. ... It was great to be with the next generation of San Giorgio youth And they pushed me hard ! We hope we can soon be allowed back in larger groups in the next few months. Stay safe George Dolores President

03.01.2022 Dear Friends & Supporters On behalf of the San Giorgio committee we would like to wish you a joyous Christmas and festive season.
