22.01.2022 How would you like to spend up to two weeks in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, making art? The Great Alpine Gallery is hosting an artist residency in Augus...t. The chosen artist will be supported with assistance for travel, materials and an artist fee ($1,200 in total). The residency will be open to all artists - local, interstate, national, international, emerging and established artists, practicing all forms of creativity. It is a great opportunity for an artist to spend time away from their own environment and routine, immerse themselves in this beautiful part of the world, connect with the local community, and produce some new work in response. The artist will be welcomed and supported by the local artists associated with the Gallery. They will be required to present two workshops, one in the school and one in the community, and present their work, or work in progress, at the end of the residency, at Swifts Creek. 20.01.2022 Great NEWS!!! Julian Burere is confirmed as the Art Judge for the 2017 Art and Photographic Show. Julian is one of the 20 Melbourne Painters and has judged a number of prestigious art shows around the globe. He is a world-class painter and in addition to having a number of works on show, Julian will also be conducting a demonstration during the weekend.

10.01.2022 Show Closing Date Extended! Due to minor technology and user challenges we have decided to extend the closing date for entries to the 2017 Art and Photographic Show. Closing date 5pm Sunday 19th Feb. Hopefully this will take the heat off both our wonderful volunteers managing the Show and those last minute panic stricken artists that are trying to crash our systems (big smile).
