21.01.2022 Resurrecting an older Hilxux. Unserviceable cylinder head, fitted brand new head not reconditioned. Still cost affective, complete job under $2,200

19.01.2022 Land Cruiser Troop Carrier Old school in car engine fresh up. Cylinder bore hone, new pistons and rings and new bearings. This old girl will be good for another couple hundred thousand Kilometres.

12.01.2022 Santoro’s Garage will be open during the Christmas break except for the main public holidays. Will be able to carry out services and repairs to all makes and models including European cars and commercials, also air conditioning service. Nice pic of Hayden Cherry toy after new rotors and pads. Too fast for me!

11.01.2022 Nissan Navara 2.5 turbo diesel. Cracked pistons cracked head, can be a common problem from lack of servicing! Modern turbo diesels make a lot of power from relatively small engines, they can become highly stressed especially in the hi rev range under load. Always regular service, use quality oils and oil filter, air cleaners and fuel filter.

08.01.2022 Nissan GU Patrol Project When I opened Santoro’s Garage it was always my intension to create a workshop where I could have fun, sit down with friends and customers, have chats coffee and do fun projects and of course still run a normal workshop servicing and repairs without time restraints. So, it has come that my first project is a Nissan Patrol which I purchased recently with a dead engine and most likely other issues. Beside the mechanical issues it looks in pretty good sh...ape, great interior side steps roof rack draws and so on. So, the first issue is the engine it must come out for full rebuild, previous owner informed me that he cooked the engine and blown a head gasket. Looking at the engine it was obvious that it had been neglected over the years massive build of oil and grime also signs massive oil leaks. Well it’s time for the next step, lets pull this engine out. Now I know on my Facebook page that I have some friends that are mechanics or very mechanical minded and won’t be able to help themselves but to make smart arse comments (jokingly of course), remember I know where you all live! If anyone has any questions or ideas, they want to put forward as we progress through this project please, it will be fun! Til my next post.

06.01.2022 Hi every one, Just letting you know that Santoro's Garage wil be open during the Christmas break and will only be closed on the on the public holidays.I'm going to take my holidays later on in the new year. Call me if you need work done on you car but try not to leave it to the last minute as there is only so much i can do in a day.. Have a Merry Christmas.

04.01.2022 Harley Jackson pride and joy! Major service and repairs including badly leaking diff pinion seal. Had it a couple of days, Harley couldn’t hardly cope being apart got a call and a visit is it ready yet yes he missed his toy Enjoy Harley!
