25.01.2022 Legs against the wall [Viparita Karani] We love it! This restorative and approachable posture is exactly what we need after a long week. Here’s just some of the yummy benefits of this posture: The body is invited to relax in this semi-supine position as you settle in to the posture and the breath slows Promotes drainage from excess fluid build-up and gravity assists circulation by facilitating the return of blood back to the heart Can sooth swollen or cramped legs and feet... Stretches the hamstrings and lower back by reducing the curve of the lumbar spine, which elongates and stretches the back muscles. The closer yourhips are to the wall, the more stretch you'll create in yourhamstrings. Can sooth swollen or cramped legs and feet Thepelvicmuscles naturally release and relax in this position (more sowith a cushion under the pelvis) #santoshayogainstitute #yogainspiration #yogaeverydamnday #yogacommunity #yogabali #yogaonlineclasses #yogagram #yogaphotography #yogateacher #yogini #yogilife #yoga #yogadaily #yogaschool #yogateacher #ytt #weareone #oneworld #santoshayogainstitute #yogainspiration #yogaeverydamnday #yogacommunity #yogabali #yogaonlineclasses #yogagram #yogaphotography #yogateacher #yogini #yogilife #yoga #yogadaily #yogaschool #yogateacher #ytt

20.01.2022 Have you ever asked yourself what the most effective way to learn how to teach yoga is? From our years of experience in educating yoga teachers we have gathered these important steps: 1. Experience the teachings. ... At the start of our teacher trainings, our master teachers always like to lead our students through gentle Breath Awareness, Asana, Pranayama and Meditation sessions for them to experience the teachings in their own practice. 2. Learn the reasoning behind the teachings. After experiencing it, our master teachers lead our students through lectures and workshops to learn the theory behind the teachings. 3. Practice in your own time. During our trainings we always leave enough time for you to read the manuals, journal, write down teaching cues, and practice teaching out loud to yourself etc to get used to the teachings. 4. Practice teaching with other students. After learning the reasons why we are teaching yoga in a certain way, our students receive time and support to practice teaching certain postures or small parts of a yoga class with their peers in pairs or small groups. 5. Practice teaching a short yoga class. After the students feel comfortable teaching the different parts or a yoga class, we put all the pieces together to teach a full class. In our online trainings, this will be to a student of your choice. In the in person trainings, our students teach to another student or a small group of students. 6. Finally, it’s very important to remember that everybody’s journey is completely different, so we always like to remind our students to be very kind and gentle to themselves and to accept that it’s a big, magical process that takes dedication and a lot of practice but the outcomes will be extremely rewarding. Please let us know if you have any questions or if you have any other strategies that helped you learn how to teach yoga.

11.01.2022 A gentle reminder from Santosha founder Sunny : Your yoga practice is not something that you’re just ticking off. Your practice is the most delicious gift to be unpacked each time you arrive - that takes you home - that expands your consciousness - that brings joy to your heart - that brings you to the present moment and richness of your life - that allows you to understand and offer service to others - to ignite your love and cultivate the deep connection to all that is life.

05.01.2022 What is Kirtan? It can be translated many ways but the literal meaning is praise, eulogy or even the telling of a story. For those of you that have joined the beautiful @thia_moana or any Kirtan circle you will know the power it beholds. It is a deep and soul nourishing practice of offering your gratitude and love to the universe, to others and to yourself. Kirtan chanting is traditionally done using Sanskrit mantras. A mantra is a mathematical formula of vibration... and syllable to produce a desired effect. The mantras used for kirtan chanting are meant to induce a state of peace and compassion. Did you know that Neuroscience proves thatgroup singing makes us happier, healthier, smarter and more creative!? Every timeyou sing, youfire up the right temporal lobe of your brain, and release endorphins including oxytocin which result in heightened states of pleasure, bliss, bonding and love. #kirtan #singing #chanting #song #santoshayogainstitute #yogainspiration #yogaeverydamnday #yogacommunity #yogabali #yogaonlineclasses #yogagram #yogaphotography #yogateacher #yogini #yogilife #yoga #yogadaily #yogaschool #yogateacher #
