21.01.2022 SEBASTIÃO ARRUDA Native to Brazil’s northeast, it was first brought to France in the 1700s and it quickly became a favourite of King Louis XV and XVI, being used in classical fine furniture. It became so popular it is now scarce and rare. Luckily, @caulewood turns leftovers, abandoned or damaged wood findings into treasure. Instead of turning this fine piece into fine dust, Victor sculpts these one of a kind beauties.... If wood had a pedigree, Sebastião Arruda (or Tulipwood!), is the best in show

20.01.2022 This week we’re celebrating #NAIDOCWEEK2021 I’d like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which SÃO works, creates and lives, the Peoples of the Kulin Nation, and recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded. I also pay my respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to other Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders of different nations. As a Brazilian immigrant, this week makes me reflect back on my... home country. I wish Brazil had a celebration like this or at the very least recognition of its traditional people and the horrific ongoing genocide. Gabriela from SÃO x artwork by @sar.ra__

12.01.2022 Place a pop of colour in your kitchen with our fruity decor! Bananas are crazy popular in Brazil! It can grow anywhere and it’s probably Brazilian’s favourite (healthy) snack. We think it only became a cool item when Carmen Miranda put it on her headpiece though! What do you think?

03.01.2022 HANDS THAT CREATE We’re forever inspired by the artists and communities we work with. Their originality, creativity and most impressive of all, their hands. Their hands hold the power to build a new world, continue living traditions, transport people to their reality.... Here’s how the Wambe baskets are made, by knitting carefully picked palm fibres together to shape the most emblematic Indigenous symbols - the basket photo by Sérgio Matos
