With a few star Lightning players still away, a few Thunder athletes got the opportunity to step up and take the court with the support of their team mates on the sideline!!!... USC Thunder will have our athletes fit and ready to go with the appointment of both a Head of Performance and an Assistant Performance coach to ensure our players receive personalised and elite level programs to prepare them for The Queensland Ruby and Sapphire series competition. We welcome back Max McKenzie as Head of Performance in 2021. Max has been a part of Thunder since its inception into the Sapphire Series Competition. Max holds his Masters in High performance sport and is currently completing his doctorate of Philosophy at USC while managing working across USC Thunder, Sunshine Coast lightning, Spartans Swimming and Queensland Rugby programs. Joining Max we welcome to the Thunder family Jodie Tully. Jodie is an accredited ASCA strength and conditioning coach completing her Bachelor’s of sport and exercise Science with 13 years coaching experience, specialising more recently in Elite Development program for women. Jodie brings great passion and energy to the role and experience working with elite female athletes across a wide range of sports. Welcome Jodie.
