06.01.2022 I have been in the process of upgrading the house to 3 phase over the last few months, with the outlook of a bigger solar system. I am happy to say, this proces...s is complete. Living in SE QLD, we had 10.8KW in 36 x 300W Longi All Black panels, connected to a 8.2KW Fronius Primo inverter (now for sale) installed last October. With an export limit of 5KW, pool pump, all electric house and an EV too. After living with this system, I crunched all the numbers, we decided to pull the pin and do the upgrade. So after waiting for Energex to do their bit for the 3 phase change over, the Primo inverter was removed and replaced with same sized Symo & another 8.2KW Symo for the 36 new Suntech All Black panels were added. So we now have 21.6KW in panels, 9.6KW facing East, 6.9KW facing West and the rest North. That’s connected to the two 8.2KW Symo Fronius inverters. On 3 phase, export limited to 15KW. It’s now been 23 days since the install of the upgraded solar system and we’ve generated an average of 112KWh per day, with our new average house hold consumption being 39.6kWh per day, we only have an average daily import of 4.1KWh from the grid. It is a lot easier to self consume more power now & with the help of the Zappi charger, the car is able to charge a lot faster now too, with more power from the sun. We also expect these numbers to improve as this month has been hampered with a fair bit of smoke haze. We are very happy with the new system, it seams like it will be worth all the time, effort & cost. Check photo descriptions for more details. Happy to answer any & all questions you may have.
