25.01.2022 Check us out on google for business info, website links, 5 star reviews and more. Our passion is to help motivated people of all walks of life get back to doing the things they love to do. After injury, this path is often non-linear. Meaning there is plenty of ups and downs both physically and mentally. We understand this process and work alongside our clients to help them navigate this path from injury back to high performance. ... #sapien #sapiens #sapienrap #physiotherapy #physio #rehabilitation #goldcoast #coolangatta See more

24.01.2022 Incredible week of waves on the Gold Coast with no signs of slowing down! We are here to help our local surfers with the niggles, the tweaks, the injuries and those simply looking to surf longer per session and longer in life. We are based inside @holisticprohealth in Coolangatta and work closely with Rod Perez. We apply conventional Physiotherapy ideas as well as principles of DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation) and the Holistica Movement Methods. ... Both of these are used by WSL level athletes which at the right of year will be training inside our facility alongside our clients (you). #sapien #sapiens #sapienrap #physiotherapy #physio #rehabilitation #goldcoast #coolangatta #surfing #surfinglife #surfingrehab #surftraining #holisticprohealthperformance

19.01.2022 Congrats to the ladies on completing their charity fundraiser for the Menzies Institute. 10 ladies 10 km run / walk 10 days in a row... Big effort and there is still a few days left to donate at the link below! https://www.mycause.com.au//234/the-road-to-recovery-2020

15.01.2022 Goodluck @kai_tandler who is on the way down the coast to compete in the surfing WQS (World Qualifying Series). Fresh quiver of JRs ready to go. Amazing year of training and progression last year We are very lucky to practice under the roof of and work as part of the team at @holisticprohealth... Direct exposed to the training methods used by some of the worlds best surfers and methodology developed by high performance coach Rodrigo Perez

14.01.2022 Big congrats to super mum, occupational therapist and one of our most dedicated clients Jane on hitting her goal time and finishing in the GC50 For those that don’t know, it is a 50km race. A marathon is 42km... Madness if you ask me but we are happy to support our clients lofty goals and help get their body functioning to a level that matches these goals.... Jane has been following a tailored strength and conditioning program to enhance running performance, prevent injury and to also keep her surfing forever (Jane is also a QLD masters champ and has placed third in national championships).

11.01.2022 Control of the trunk (torso) is a critical factor in force transfer throughout the body If we want to jump higher, hit harder, push harder through a carving turn then all the energy is going to pass through the centre of the body at one point or another A reactive core that is able to pass this force through it with little loss of output is key for high level athletes... In this image, surfer @kai_tandler shows nice stacking of the spine, shoulders and hips. A critical skillet for any powerful athlete This exercise links in the hips with the core and the lats providing some nice closed chain shoulder/scapula stability on the lower side. #sapien #sapienrap #physio #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #fisioterapia #goldcoast ##coolangatta #surf #surfing #surfinglife #athletedevelopment

11.01.2022 Big finish this weekend for the guys at AB Tennis Academy We love seeing athletes we work with healthy doing what they love and getting big results Congrats Alberto and players

09.01.2022 Crazy the workouts you can get in and the energy expenditure you can get whilst simply doing fun activities. Consistent action is the best path to results and no better way to stay consistent than to do things that you love to do. Freedom in the body gives the chance to express a wide range of movements and activities over a large part of life.... A lack of freedom in the body will shorten all of those things. The range of movements available and the duration in life we get to do those activities. Just move and do things you enjoy, that challenge and progress you. Infinite gains and progress

02.01.2022 - Brushing up on our favourite Dry Needling techniques with Physio Dan and surfer @thomas_carvalho lending a good canvas to work on. Needling as with all interventions can be very helpful for the right person, the right injury and done at the right time.... No intervention should be done at random or you will simply be wasting time, money or both. The real skill before any intervention is an accurate musculoskeletal and movement assessment. This way the treatment is directed towards the right areas relevant for the injury and can shorten recovery times significantly. #sapienrap #deadlift #biomechanics #trapbar #physio #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #goldcoast #coolangatta #movementismedicine

01.01.2022 Our approach to rehabilitation and performance is simple and defined in the picture above Find where the athlete currently stands. This is dependent on many factors such as the nature of the injury, duration, tissue involved, training history, future goals etc Once we identify this we have an entry point to begin the rehabilitation process... From here it is as simple as following a series of progressions that allow tissue healing, build back up capacity and address any factors involved in why the injury occurred. The main thing with this continuum approach is that simple and easy are 2 different things! It takes years of experience, specialised knowledge of the sports involved and open communication with the athlete to identify the starting point and know when to push along the continuum. Don’t leave your recovery to chance! If more information is what was needed we would all be able to fix ourselves. More information is rarely what is needed but more of a guide to show you exactly how and when to progress safely back to sport We have dedicated our life and careers to being that guide in this small area of life
