19.01.2022 It’s been a biscuit celebration at Hillgrove this week. Our clever cooks have created biscuits for our Spring Day, Father’s Day and R U OK Day? It is a yummy way to help make things OK.
17.01.2022 DEHYDRATORS TRIAL A SUCCESS! Three local businesses have diverted more than 30 tonnes of food waste away from landfill after participating in a Bega Valle...y Shire Council program to dehydrate kitchen scraps and leftovers. We initiated the twelve-month trial with business owners who may have found our FOGO service difficult due to their high output of food waste and limited bin space. Using food waste dehydrator technology takes a low-value waste product and turns it into a high-quality organic fertiliser while reducing food waste mass by up to 90% and eliminating the problem of bin odours. Two of the three participating businesses have continued using the dehydrators beyond the trial period, with aged care facilities, Hillgrove House and Imlay House projected to keep more than 20 tonnes of food waste away from landfill this year. That’s just two businesses; imagine what could be achieved if more adopt this method! Want to learn more? Go to: https://bit.ly/3fJjZ35
17.01.2022 Merry Christmas from all of us at Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care.
17.01.2022 This week we took a trip to Thailand at Hillgrove House. Residents ate traditional red curry, chicken sate, curry puffs and spring rolls followed by sticky rice and mango and loved every mouthful. Our beautiful staff member, Fah demonstrated traditional dancing, helped design the menu and prepare the food. It was a lovely lunch, congratulations to all catering staff and special thanks to Fah.
