14.01.2022 As a makeup educator, my job is to educate RIGHT? So let’s talk products for a wee minute. Your kit is one of the most important if not the MOST expensive assets as a working artist. Your pro kit is a true reflection of you and your work, as well as your personal brand. So having good quality products is, I think highly important. My motto has always been quality products that give you beautiful results over cheaper, products and brands as some may not give you the result yo...ur after. As a makeup artist having a variety of products such as makeup artist only brands in your kit that your client may not have been exposed too, such as @bennyemakeup @faceatelier @temptu @kryolan @embryolisse etc... but also having products your client may have heard of @ctilburymakeup @giorgioarmani @tomfordbeauty @toofaced @hourglasscosmetics @nars @meccacosmetica @beccacosmetics @lauramercier and so on.....So before buying a product for you or your kit, think about where it’s made and look at the quality of the product, the pigment, longevity and what your going to be mainly using it for, TV, photographic, fashion, bridal etc... and ask for samples and test it on yourself before purchasing it for your kit. Do your research!! Try before you buy! As there are so many different brands on the market now, and choosing the best products for your kit can be so daunting and confusing too! 08.01.2022 Let’s talk Bridal Make-up trials for a quick minute. I get asked all the time about trials and why it’s so important to have one as a future bride 1. Generally speaking you’ve chosen your artist according to what makeup look they do well ie Instaglam, full coverage, natural makeup, glowing skin, cut crease, airbrushing, bridal, glam etc 2. Stalk your artist- I know this sounds weird but - check there socials as well as website and looks they specialise in as well and ...if they have been retouched or a filter has been added (check for no pores/ultra smooth skin) as well as how long they have been a professional makeup artist 3. Trial day/Consultation- have Instagram/Pinterest images of makeup looks you’d like on the day of your trial 4. A trial is for you the bride to get a feel of your artist and ask questions of how the day is going to run 5. A trial is basically that, a trial, a feel of what the makeup will look like on the day of the wedding- 99.9% of the time the makeup on the day will be 10 times better than the trial day just saying. 6.
