24.01.2022 It was great to host some year 12 students from the Kalgoorlie Clontarf academy this week at our Carosue Dam Operations. The boys were greeted by our General Manager Rob Williamson, Laurie Fletcher and our Processing and Maintenance team where a quick discussion on what their roles entailed was had over morning tea. Our contracting partner Byrnecut Australia Pty Ltd showed the students around the maintenance workshop where they learned a few things about the cost of loader ty...res and bucket repairs. Our ERT Coordinator then had some fun with the boys hosing off our contaminated site medic in a mock drill and showed them a few pieces of the Emergency Response tool kit including the jaws of life. A trip over to our Core Shed had the boys learning the origins of the term rock licker and the importance of getting the core logged correctly and how some water can turn a piece of boring grey core into kaleidoscope of colour. A friendly game of ping pong, lunch and a tour of camp and the gym facilities finished off the day. A massive thank you to all our staff that assisted with organising the day! 22.01.2022 Due to a conflict with Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum, Team Saracen rode again last weekend in the MACA Ltd Cancer200 with a much smaller team than usual: 6 riders in Perth and 1 in Sydney. A great effort to raise $42k so thanks to all who donated #thankyou #cancerresearch
