19.01.2022 Well what can I say! Another fabulous Art School Xmas Party! What a great year we have had 2019!!!!

18.01.2022 Its been a fabulous FULL ON 4 weeks at the Art School since Ive been back from Italy... heres some of the wonderful outcomes that my students have achieved since I shared some of my experiences with them. Pushing them out of their comfort zone, trying new techniques and experimenting without knowing too much about the outcome.. MAGIC!!!!

17.01.2022 Coming towards the end of a fairly intense and challenging term of learning everything about Portraiture and making skin tones and capturing character.... I am so unbelievably proud of all of our students for what they have achieved!! It is not easy, particularly when you know your subject so well. They are not all finished but the learning process has been invaluable... or so I hope! Rosemary White what a term!!! Xxx

17.01.2022 Its been a big week first week back at my Art School. 7 lectures and live painting demonstrations talking about Interpreting Colour in the Landscape.. a topic very dear to my heart. Im now just a wee bit exhausted....but it was exhilarating and rewarding sharing my knowledge, passion and experience with my students.

16.01.2022 So proud of my dad who joined the Art School only 2 terms ago having never painted before. Very apprehensive and nervous about his ability...a very normal feeling experienced by all my new students. Look at what hes recently achieved!!!!!

16.01.2022 It’s been a fabulous start to Term 4 at the Art School with our guest Artist Simone Linehan talking to us about ABSTRACT ART. The students have been so inspired by her talk and watching a demonstration of her process. Now it’s their turn!! It’s going to be a fun final term to this very unusual up and down 2020. Rosemary White

15.01.2022 Been a great start to Term 4! After my lecture and demo last week about Interpreting Colour in the Landscape... we have seen lots of wonderful Landscape paintings begin. The students are being brave with colour and some are challenging themselves by working from a black and white photo where they have to interpret the colour by referring to the values and drawing in their own intuition!! Exciting!!!!

15.01.2022 HANGING DAY!! This is the day when I get to sit back and view all of the stunning work produced by the students at my Art School. Curating a show like this takes time and care. It’s a joy! The Exhibition opens to the public on Friday 2nd July and runs for the month of July. Hughes Gallery, Fullarton Park Community Centre.

14.01.2022 Well its half way through Term 1 and here are some of the fabulous MIXED MEDIA artworks that have been made by our clever students!! All so different, so creative and most with a theme driving the project that is personal and has significance to the artist. Its really teaching the students about composition, being brave and not being too driven by the OUTCOME but exploring the CREATIVE PROCESS...

14.01.2022 Just a few snaps of our clever students working on a variety of projects in Term 3. Holidays for a couple of weeks and then its the final term for the year! Term 4 is already fully booked out. Stay tuned for new term projects and if your keen you need to be on the wait list for 2020. Rosemary White

It’s a stunning collection of paintings made by our clever students. Get along to The Hughes Gallery at Fullarton Park Centre to view it for the month of July.

08.01.2022 Well Term 1 at the Art School has come to an end very quickly! How time flies when you are happy creating and making. Here are just some examples of what our clever students have created this term after being inspired by this Terms theme THE URBAN LANDSCAPE we have been yet again blown away by the work that has been produced and some of these students have only been painting with us a very short time! It is never too late to learn and we can teach anyone to paint! It’s all about building confidence and being brace to have a go. Enjoy!! Rosemary White Simone Linehan

05.01.2022 So we are nearly half way through Term 3 and weve learnt all about GREENS and how many greens you can mix using the warm and cool primary colours. Here are just a few examples of the incredible variety of green paintings that are happening already! Such variety of styles and subject matter being explored.

04.01.2022 So after a week of live painting demonstrations to all of the classes.... its now the students turn to be brave and make an Alla Prima style Still Life painting from observation in a 2 hour studio session. Wow!!! Already Rosemary White and I are blown away by what they are producing. Its challenging and pushing people out of there comfort zone to work FAST and FREE with less detail... but its a fabulous discipline to practice and encourages BOLD and CONFIDENT MARK MAKING!! Here are just some of the wonderful results. Check out the photos below.

04.01.2022 After what has been a beautifully, happy, fun filled term full of stunning floral still life paintings, I am sad to say I have had to close the doors of the Art School. This will not be forever and Im trying to remain positive but we are still in a time of uncertainty. I will be using my time at home to develop a term of online classes and video demonstrations in the case we cant return in term 2. Its abit of trial and error but we can make this work to help us be creative at home. Lets stay connected, be kind, be sensible and look after each other during this time. This will pass.

03.01.2022 First week back at my Art School for 2021. This terms topic is about The Urban Landscape. Been a huge week of lectures and live painting demos, but it’s great to be back presenting to all of our students.

02.01.2022 A lovely success story coming out of my Art School is Deb Budich who has just had her first exhibition. She always loved Art at school and it took until later in her life that she really wanted to pursue it. She found me and my Art School and I have been able to teach her and mentor her along the way to feel confident enough to exhibit her beautiful work. It is never to late to start learning or living your dream.

02.01.2022 A little snippet of a palette knife lesson.

02.01.2022 STILL A FEW AVAILABLE PLACES FOR TERM 4!! I’m excited to announce our guest Artist for Term 4 is Simon Linehan. Simone will be presenting to all of the classes in week one, sharing her process, ideas and passions about ABSTRACT ART. I still have a few available spots in the Monday night class and a couple in the Wednesday morning class. Please messsge me or email me at [email protected] if you would like to enrol in the 8 week course. Thanks Sarah

02.01.2022 WEEK 1, Term 1 2020 at The Art School has begun and its all about FLOWERS!!!! My week 1 lecture is focusing on STILL LIFE Painting from OBSERVATION. I have enjoyed playing with all of the flowers to make my arrangements for my live PAINTING DEMONSTRATIONS.

01.01.2022 What an exciting start to our final term for 2020! Discovering the world of ABSTRACTION. Inspired by our guest Artist’s presentation in Week 1, the students are now experimenting, be brave, getting out of their comfort zone and having fun! Abstract Art is not as easy or as simple as people think it might be. The challenge of not having a subject matter presents a whole range of new experiences, creative decisions and trusting your instincts. Below are just some of what has been produced this week.
