25.01.2022 Stamp Duty The NSW government has announced a plan this week to change the way tax is paid on property in NSW. The new arrangements will give people the option to choose between the current system of paying stamp duty when buying a house, or instead paying a small annual property tax for as long as they own the house with the rates differing for owner-occupiers, investors and commercial tenants. Currently buyers need to be able to contribute at least 9.4% of a purchase ...to transact, 5% being the minimum deposit and 4.4% (approx.) being the stamp duty applicable.
