21.01.2022 Such an important conversation to have with your children.

20.01.2022 Its time to re re-think traditional methods of discipline that are out dated by new research and simply dont effect change.

20.01.2022 Im not sure if the source but its a lovely example of the growth mindset and how we can use words carefully to help our children develop resilience.

20.01.2022 The Uluru Statement is a gamechanger. With everything that has been happening lately more and more people have been asking what comes next? What can be done? P...rofessor Megan Davis in her latest piece in the Monthly (https://www.themonthly.com.au//reconciliation-and-promise-) discusses the state of reconciliation in Australia and what can be done next. Professor Davis explains why the Uluru Statement is a gamechanger. The First Nations Voice to Parliament in the Constitution as called for by the Uluru Statement is the Australian solution to a very Australian problem. Read Professor Davis essay and help us educate other Australians about the Uluru Statement and the need for structural reform. The sequenced process of Voice, Treaty and Truth is key to this and the structural reform of a First Nations Voice to Parliament in the Constitution will provide that moment when our voice is protected in the Constitution from the vagaries of ideology and party politics when we can have a fair and truthful relationship. Read our earlier posts also for information on how you can help. Share our message and the invitation of the Uluru Statement, keep this momentum and demand for substantive structural reform going and at the front of everyones mind. Help us achieve the change so desperately needed: a First Nations Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Constitution. #IndigenousX #auspol #auslaw #UluruStatement #Aboriginal #Indigenous #Australia #TorresStraitIslander #aboriginalandtorresstraitislander #makarrata #voicetreatytruth #blacklivesmatter #indigenouslivesmatter #aboriginallivesmatter

19.01.2022 Today is Mabo day!!! On this day in 1992, the lie that Australia justified its foundation on (Terra Nullius) was proven to be a lie. This was thanks largely to... 1 man (Eddie Koiki Mabo) who stood up and said "No, thats not right" and never ever backed down. Today is a great day to remind all of us about what we can achieve when we never back down. This is a very important lesson because the Mabo fight is not over. Since the decision, Australia came up with 2 more lies known as Native Title and Reconciliation because the govt and most European settlers dont want to do the right thing and give back what belongs to us. So on this Mabo day our message is to be "Hard Headed" like Murray Islanders are famous for...Never back down from what is Right....This is our land and we gotta take it back!!!! This will be for the benefit of everyone black & white. We arent the selfish ones in this fight. And to anyone who is reading this and thinking "whatever, thats never gonna happen"...We want you to know that were proper hard heads planning for Independence EVERY day and night!!! R.I.P Eddie Koiki Mabo - We got this!!!

19.01.2022 Positive growth mindset is everything

17.01.2022 I forgot where I saw this but imagine? What about dyslexia? Imagine dyslexia was a good thing at schools and not we cant help you bc we dont have the funding...? Having dyslexia in a not dyslexic world is hard but dyslexic kids allowed to learn the way that works for them then it would be a good thing. See more

16.01.2022 When Naidoc week meets Remembrance Day we pause to reflect on our gratitude to those who have served and our Indigenous soldiers who fought. Lest we forget.

15.01.2022 Expand your emotional vocabulary to label exactly how you are feeling...

14.01.2022 Do you ever make a mistake (big or little) and then it's like you're on a runaway train of self-loathing? It has a name and that name is "Shame Spiral". For exa...mple, say you make posts for social media, and you misspell a word right in the title *coughcough* and instead of being like "Oops, my bad, I should take more time to proofread." You question why you even post on social media, you're SURE people must think you're dumb, and then you tell yourself you're going to stop posting on social media because it's just totally not worth it. It's like that. Okay, that was an over-exaggeration but for real, I've shame spiraled over small disagreements with my wife, I've shame spiraled over the emotional abuse I suffered from my ex, it's so common. We all do it. But it's so important that we stop the spiral before it really gets going. Stop and remind yourself that mistakes happen and you can still be a good and worthy person. Have a solution-based mindset instead of giving into those feelings that are full of self-loathing and isolation. Learn how to stop the spiral.

14.01.2022 A clever book written by a clever lady

10.01.2022 One for the parents tonight.

09.01.2022 Parents please talk to your tweens & teens about a website/ social media platform called Omegle. Its a dangerous and unregulated platform where users are paired up to chat with a random stranger. Teachers & colleagues, please keep your ears open for any mention of this platform. Its just not safe. Professionally I have heard first hand many horror stories about the things vulnerable youth have been talked into doing on this site. ... Please check out: Office of the eSafety Commissioner For credible and safe information about on line
