Its NEVER easy starting out... it hurts, its uncomfortable, gyms are intimidating - but I promise the more you do it, the more comfortable you will become. 22.01.2022 One of my favourite compound lifts to perform with my clients is the the Sumo Deadlift. This lift is great variation especially useful for clients who have existing back problems. When performed correctly the sumo deadlift has a more vertical torso positioning (due to foot placement). By increasing the back’s vertical angle (the torso is more upright), the lower back is not in as much stress as it would be in a Romanian or conventional deadlift. This can be beneficial for clients who want to limit lower back stress. Performed beautifully here by @jadeparvs_ Happy Monday

19.01.2022 in only 5x sessions with @mrsbronniem, she has learnt how to perform the Barbell Back Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press and Hip Thrust. Shes now hip thrusting 60kg for reps, bench pressing 30kg, squatting 40kg and deadlifting 30kg. Not to mention her significant improvements in all her accessory exercises! 17.01.2022 Heres an awesome #Glute exercise/finisher to add to your next session. The Shoulder and Foot Elevated Single Leg Thrust... WOAH! The elevation of your body increases the range of motion/intensity of the exercise! Ive been programming this for a few of my Online SBBS Clients and have also thrown it in as a finisher for a couple of my face-to-face PT sessions... as @kailenewatt experienced!

A great way to ensure you stick to your nutritional goals is to plan ahead and know what your eating over the next day or days. I create personalised Habits for each of my online clients, that they have to check off in their calendar in the SBBS app daily. A common Habit for a few of my clients include; Planning food the night before. This simple task can really help you to stay on track!

13.01.2022 My favourite lift to coach women on is the #BenchPress! Its very common for women to have never performed this exercise and this is usually due to; 1 Being told or thinking its a male exercise, 2 Being too scared to perform for fear of criticism at the gym, 3 Being unsure of how to set it up in the gym or 4 Being scared of failing. The #BenchPress is not only a great exercise for upper body strength, its also extremely empowering... just ask @jenny_l_morrison! Dont be afraid to ask for help and lets get lifting!

10.01.2022 Booty Finisher with @mrsbronniem this morning! Many of us have under active glutes, which can lead to a host of problems, one of the most common being back pain! Glute-specific exercises should be included into your training program regularly, not only to shape your glutes, but more importantly, to build them STRONG! Double banded hip thrusts are a great exercise to finish on, as they dont require a heavy set up and they will make those glutes absolutely burn!

09.01.2022 This is me, one month of ZERO weight training, just regular walking/hikes and reformer Pilates. After years of training like an ‘athlete’ (weights, cardio, HIIT, pole and dance) and very little downtime, my body decided it needed a little break. I was getting lots of niggles and injuries (hip, rib, foot etc) that just wouldn’t heal, so I decided to take a full week off weights/HIIT/cardio. After the first week, I felt a lot better and well-rested, but I still had the l...ittle niggles that were not completely healing. A week turned into two, then three, four and I’ll possibly go for another 1-2 weeks before easing back into it. At first I thought I could not possibly take the time off I needed and dreaded the thought of not training. I thought I would lose all of my hard work overnight and it made me feel really anxious. Fast forward to now, my body is feeling amazing and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my ‘slower’ paced training. I’ve also found the desire to train again, but not at the intensity I was used to and I’m choosing to train what I enjoy, instead of it being a chore. Just a reminder to those ladies stressing over missing one day or a week of training (you know who you are), you are not going to instantly lose all of your gains overnight. Make sure you are training because it makes you feel good, but ALSO because you enjoy it! And if you need to take a break or you are injured, do it and enjoy the rest! 07.01.2022 Phew... what a day! 8x gorgeous clients back-to-back today and Im especially excited to welcome this babe to the SBBS family, @mrsshoebridge! She will start Online Programming and PT sessions with me next week! This girl does not know her own strength... we hit a 45kg #BenchPress today for her first ever time performing it!

Weve been focusing our 2x PT sessions/week on all the major compound and barbell lifts, with her accessory exercises to be performed at home via her SBBS personalised program. Shes been building some serious strength of late and it just shows that a little consistency, patience and hard work really pays off! In todays workout she performed: 1 Barbell Hip Thrusts (6x sets; 40kg, 60kg, 80kg, 90kg, 100kg and 110kg), 2 Barbell Sumo Deadlifts (6x sets; 40kg, 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg x2 sets), 3 Barbell Push Press (5x sets; 20kg, 22.5kg, 25kg, 27.5kg, 30kg x2 sets)! Crushing it girl!

06.01.2022 Even though @claudiaschroderr is living in #Townsville now, shes back training with me (via the SBBS online app). Claudia started training with me face-to-face when she was still in high school on the Gold Coast and we got some amazing results and strength gains! She has started her new SBBS Online Training/Nutrition block this week, Im pumped to see what this girl is capable of!

05.01.2022 Here is an amazing example of how a consistent and structured weight training program and eating MORE food can change your body shape, by increasing muscle and reducing your body fat. Babetown and mum of one, @sez_magne came to me this time last year with the goal of building muscle, loosing body fat and getting strong, whilst being able to eat ALL the food. She had never properly tracked her macronutrients before and was eating approximately 1300 calories. She ...was training 2-3x weight/HIIT sessions per week and punishing herself with endless cardio up to 5-6 times per week. Sez is also a Type 1 Diabetic and normal life for her was having 5 insulin injections a day into her stomach. She got a little bit of relief from injecting last December and got an insulin pump put into her stomach. In her words; Ive always had problems with my tummy, as thats where my injections sights are. Diabetes is the biggest struggle, there is a consistent battle of sugars, having lows and needing sugar to bring them up - affecting my sleep, muscle gain, everything. Not too mention, I also have asthma, crohns disease and I am celiac, so eating has always been hard because of what to eat and scared to eat due to being in pain. I implemented 5x weight sessions per week, limited her cardio to walking and progressively increased her calories to now 1900 daily, with two higher days at 2200, ensuring she hit her protein targets. Initially she was scared and concerned she was going to blow out. There was a lot of reassuring, telling her to stop stressing over the scales and we checked in frequently. To her surprise her body fat was decreasing as her food was increasing. This is no fad, no crash diet, no 8-week challenge, no shred, just consistent weight training, hitting her nutrition goals and trusting me and the process.
