09.01.2022 The start to 2021 has seen momentum continue on site at ECH Inc and with construction work on the Encore Apartments. The first of the two residential buildings is nearing its completion, with internal finishes now not only providing visual representation of finished apartments, but also the commercial and communal spaces on Ground and First Floor Levels. The South Building and Residential tower is also advancing well with works to both the façade and fitout occurring on each... floor, from basement levels up to Level 5. With façade & fit out the focus on the larger buildings, structural activities have helped shape the connecting café & linkway. A suspended slab pour was carried out early in the month and has seen steelwork promptly thereafter. 02.01.2022 - Always Was, Always Will Be - In celebration of NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week 2020 a group of Sarah staff took a guided tour along the Adelaide Kaurna Walking Trail in Adelaide's CBD, lead by Michael Kumatpi O'Brien. We learnt a great deal around the coincidence (or was it?) of the placement of the Adelaide Festival Centre, the same location where the Kaurna people used to put on their performances before colonisation. Adelaide Oval ...was also where some Kaurna people played their sports, including Kardi Wapa, played with an Emu feather which is a similar game to rugby.
