25.01.2022 Thank you Clare from Unwind Myotherapy! We often forget we have a choice x
25.01.2022 Fresh juice! I've recently been inspired by a friend completing a juice fast so thought I'd dust off the juicer and get back into it. After a week of starting my morning with a fresh juice I feel so much more energetic, mentally focused and my skin is definitely thanking me too. I've been using mostly vegetables and occasionally apples or pears to sweeten things up. I also love adding ginger and lemon for a zing! This combination is pear, carrot, ginger, cucumber, celery and lemon x SJP
25.01.2022 Do you forget to breathe? I know I do! This is a great article for those of us who run around all day in adrenaline mode. Slow down and take a read to learn how to breathe properly. It's all about the diaphragm x SJP
24.01.2022 I see this nearly every time I grab something from the fruit bowl anyone else?! #toddlersnack #grazingallday #justabitethenchangemymindmum #healthykids #naturopath
24.01.2022 It's been a while since posting. I'm taking some time today to slow down and enjoy snuggles while Evie is in daycare. I'm also starting to get back into work mode which means reconnecting to the world a bit more! Thanks to all my friends and clients who have been so understanding while I've been in the baby bubble. #fourthtrimester #gettingbackintotheswingofthings #naturopath
24.01.2022 Cheers! #sundayfunday #oppositesattract
24.01.2022 Tomato harvest time with my little gardener! My grandparents always grew their own tomatoes and I remember the taste being so different compared to the ones mum bought at the shops. Love teaching Evie about where her food comes from x SJP
23.01.2022 Melbourne you're freezing!! My easy quick tips for staying well and warm during these dark cold days: * Drink ginger tea - it's a warming circulatory stimulant and great for the immune system. Make it strong using fresh ginger root and add a dash of honey if you like. * Take Vitamin C - it seems like everyone around me is sneezing and coughing. Taking vitamin C boosts your natural immune defences. About 1000mg day should do it. If you feel like you might be coming down with s...omething boost your intake to 3000mg daily in divided doses. More tips to come soon! What are you doing to stay warm? x SJP
23.01.2022 S.L.O.W - Seasonal, Local, Organic (when possible!), Wholefood. With all this stress about frozen berries it's got me thinking about how I am doing living by the SLOW food ideal. Everyone I speak to about these frozen berries had no idea they came from countries so far away and with poor food safety regulations. I get it, life gets busy and ducking to the supermarket an hour before dinner is often the way I've been getting food on the table recently. Convenience (like frozen... berries and other frozen food) works to keep food prep quick and who has time to read food labels these days? Here are some tips I've been trying to implement to get back to simple real nourishing food without spending hours at the shops/markets/ and spending a small fortune on the groceries each week... Seasonal - I order a weekly box of organic fruit and vege and I get what I'm given based on what is in season. Search for co-ops or stores in your area who provide this service. Saves me time running to the store too. Local - Luckily the place I order from knows all the farms where the food comes from. You get emails every week with updates from the farmers which I love reading and makes me feel good to support these people. We've also been getting into our vegie garden and growing our own food and we have chooks who give us beautiful eggs everyday. Organic - It's expensive. I know. Buying in season really helps with the cost. Look for local co-ops in your area. I don't always eat organic for sure but do my best to source sustainable food. Wholefood - Buy less packaged food. The less processed the better. x SJP
22.01.2022 Eating like a rainbow. Evie is really into her colours at the moment and being such a fussy eater I am finding a great way to get her to try new foods is to ask her to choose a red, purple, orange, yellow and green fruit or vegetable each day. My independent toddler gets choice and I know she is getting a good cross section of nutrition in! Same goes for us all. When is the last time you considered how many colours you eat each day? Give it a go. Try having 5 various coloured fruit or vegetables. Simple and so good for you!
20.01.2022 I love this quote. Many of my clients will relate to the need to shift your mind and habits in order to generate healing that lasts in the body.
20.01.2022 Yes sending love to all my friends! It feels so good to be able to raise my girls in a country where all love is equal #lovewins

10.01.2022 Back in clinic today after 2 weeks of rushing to Sydney to be with a very unwell family member. After spending most of this time in the hospital system it has given me a new appreciation for my role as a naturopath. We are often termed complimentary health practitioners and I feel this to be so true today. I see that giving my clients space and time to share their whole health story is powerful both emotionally and physically. I see that focusing on diet and lifestyle and set...ting goals empowers my clients to work through their health challenges with more confidence and motivation. I see that I hold the position to work on disease prevention. I say this with the utmost respect to the amazing doctors and nurses I met and who do incredible work. Integrative medicine is so important. #happytobehome #naturopathy #wholehealth #evidencebasedcare #preventativemedicine See more
10.01.2022 Weekly shop at the farmers markets on the weekend. We are so lucky to have access to such fresh seasonal food! Do you eat in season? Sticking to seasonal fruit and vegetables is cheaper (even organic can be cheaper), generally has more nutrients as it hasn't been kept in cold storage for months and best of all tastes better. Eating like this throughout the year ensures variety and optimal nutrition x SJP
09.01.2022 This is a great little article on the difference between Magnesium salts & Epsom salts. I've been recommending these a lot in the past few weeks especially as many of my clients are are on health rejuvination plans and need some extra magnesium after the festive/silly season x SJP

04.01.2022 Noticing memory loss? Have a family history of Alzheimers or dementia? New research suggests that elevated homocysteine levels should be investigated and that B-vitamins, in particular B6, B9 and B12 can play a protective role in prevention or improvement in symptoms. SJP
