18.01.2022 Alchemy of She - Ancestors and Sisters ............................ New channeled ambidextrous piece created using both hands simultaneously. When I make marks with both hands I enter a strong flow state where it is very difficult to control how I think the art should be and have to let go to allow the expression to come through. The faces morphing and changing in age, gender and origin with every new mark. ... This piece was created for the valentine’s group exhibition last weekend at Sucker Co. curated by Doug Bennett on the themes love, compassion and not being alone. I don’t plan my art I just start with a line and see what happens and when I feel it is finished I will analyse what has come through. To me this piece is a self portrait about being a woman and how to survive in a patriarchal world. Taking a break from romantic connection and societal projections that we are not already complete and need to search for our other half. To tune into personal power and ancestral sacred feminine energy, the fluidity of sexuality, taking space, breathing and finding strength in stillness and connecting from that place when the time is right. Remembering ............................ She the creator, She remembers, She the nurturer, She remembers, She the warrior, She remembers, She has wants, She remembers, She has needs, She remembers, She has plans, She remembers, Strong times are these. Made with mixed media acrylic, spray paint, charcoal, pastel on recycled plywood 1200mm x 900mm If you appreciate my art please share & invite friends to like my page @sarahmassonart lots of love Sarah xx

14.01.2022 I can’t help but to feel everything around me. As an Artist for me my feelings are channeled through my practice. Over the last few days I have been feeling the... colour red... visually it’s not my favourite colour maybe because it’s so challenging to work with, however in me it has always been a colour of strength and being grounded, and I can’t help but to feel my people right now! The way I am dealing with everything is through my marks I am making. I feel red is revealing itself in a way to me that signifies coming together and being strong as one people we are powerful. 10.01.2022 Vereya - A Line In The Sand [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO] Buy or Stream here: fanlink.to/VereyaLineInTheSand Cat #: BNP038... Release Date: 05.02.2021 Hailing from the sublime Dandenong Ranges to the east of Melbourne, Vereya are a five-piece band with a panoramic sound. Their debut on Beat & Path, ‘A Line in the Sand’, is a perfect addition to the label’s pluralistic discography, introducing a fresh flavour of eeriness and mystery. The A-side is an emotive piece that began as a solo piano experiment and evolved into a lush, vocal soundscape that deals with redemption, regeneration, moving forward and not looking back. Projecting the pathos of musical theatre, it manages somehow to echo Vangelis, Satie and Stephen Sondheim all at once. 03.01.2022 Wanna learn about vital and pressing Aboriginal current events from expert Aboriginal campaigners and a Radical Aboriginal Historian?? And hear some sick music ...and spoken word?? I’ll bet you do! I’ve made some ok media and music over the years. Even some good stuff. But I’m really proud of this evening’s show on 3RRR’s The Mission. https://www.rrr.org.au//epis/12040-the-mission-9-june-2020 I spoke to Nerita Waight about organisational responses to the commission into aboriginal youth imprisonment in Don Dale and about Black Lives Matter in Australia. I spoke to Gary Foley about Black radical Australian history, film and theatre and the future for the Australian Left; I opened the show with Meyne Wyatt’s electric monologue from QANDA last night, and I ended the show with a performance of my own work from Saturday night’s Black Lives Matter convergence in Castlemaine. Threw in a bit of Jimblah for the ride too. Wanna learn and be inspired? Listen to this program. It’s good independent radical black media. I’m so grateful for the chance to host this show. Thank you to my fantastic guests and to 3RRR for supporting black and First Nations media. Thanks for tuning in and I’ll speak to you next week at 7pm on 102.7FM.
