25.01.2022 G R A D U A T I O N After the most epic year, what a thrill it was to celebrate our Year 12 students’ achievements at Graduation last week, including all our successful Academic and Transition pathway students. Following Departmental protocols, it was the first community event we’ve held since Term 1; what a delight it was to share these special moments with family and see the proud faces of our Class of 2020 walk across the stage! Due to the limited capacity of guests, we ...invested in a photographer and videographer to capture the ceremony - now we want to share it with you! To view the Graduation Ceremony Highlight reel as well as the full version, head to our website: https://sarahredfe-h.schools.nsw.gov.au//graduation-photos If you are downloading the videos to keep, you must choose the HD 1080 p 1920 x 1080 / 428.468MD download quality settings. To view a limited selection of photographs (at least one per student), please visit our website: https://sarahredfe-h.schools.nsw.gov.au//graduation-2020.h To view and download the entire selection of photographs, students can access these via their Class of 2020 Google Classroom. Thank you again to our amazing team who worked tirelessly through the year to adapt their practice in the face of COVID-19 as well as the hard-working team who pulled together the event with such finesse. To our families who worked in partnership with us in ensuring their child experienced success: we see you too! #onwardsandupwardsclassof2020 #strengththroughsuccess

23.01.2022 Tomorrow’s Orientation Day! We are excited to welcome our incoming students for Orientation Day tomorrow on Tuesday 1 December; we ask that parents and carers drop off their child for registration between 8.30 - 8.50am near the front entry gym gates. Students will need to be picked up at 2.30pm. See attached link for further information. Due to COVID-safe restrictions, we’ve made the school decision to minimise community contact and offer an online option for parents and care...rs. See here for the parent video: https://sarahredfe-h.schools.nsw.gov.au//orientation-day-y Year 6 students will be provided with an information folder to bring home at the end of the day. If you have any questions about Orientation Day or your child’s transition into highschool, please contact our office on 9820 1566. #handsonactivitiesallday #strengththroughtransition

21.01.2022 What an exciting opportunity for some of our students to share in a rare opportunity to spend time with Greg Inglis today and hear about his journey. Indeed, there is strength in collective vulnerability and talking about mental health openly. Thanks for visiting us!

21.01.2022 Let’s get ready to rummmmble! Our school community have desperately missed sport this year; however, it was awesome to get back out there with the first games today with the Rugby League Nines. Our U16 girls enjoyed dominant wins in two games and a narrow loss in the other at Kirkham Oval in Elderslie up against Mt Annan, Moss Vale then Hoxton Park. Tameisha was our top try scorer while Frontina and Lunetta led from the front in Defence.... Great job gals; proud of your teamwork! #sogoodtobeback #strengththroughsport

20.01.2022 SHOUT OUT! A big note of thanks to the management of Minto Marketplace for their generosity in sponsoring our Year 12 Yearbook this year. We are absolutely thrilled with the result and are incredibly grateful for the partnership we share. 2020 has been a tough year for so many - our students completing their HSC with the disruption of online learning and loss of many hallmark events; families and business taking financial hits at the hand of COVID-19 restrictions - so it’s... awesome to receive this support for our school community. For our school community, please throw your support behind Minto Marketplace and if you pass Michael or his team as you wander through the shops, don’t hesitate to thank them! 14.01.2022 STEM’s at it again! Yesterday we welcomed some very special guests to our site to share in students’ learning through the GenSTEM intiative with CSIRO where they innovated solutions to population growth, employment and services in Campbelltown in the year 2036. Over the past year, these Year 9 and 10 students completed a range of investigations and today persented their model city to Counsellor Margaret Chivers and CSIRO Education and Outreach Project Officer, Julieanne S...tanton. The model of Campbelltown City Council in 2036 is presented as the International Airport Hub or Airtropolis of South West Sydney. Students have devised methods of sustainable energy and resource management for the City of Campbelltown to support the projected explosive populations. Their projects included: - Wildlife preservation of the Koala Town; - Large scale water reuse and grey water recycling for the citizens of Campbelltown; - Innovative air quality control solutions; - Building and dwelling sustainable heat and cooling solutions through the use of geothermal energy; and - Sustainable fuel solutions for residential and transport services. Each project required hours of research using the Scientific method to solve a complex inquiry problem. They presented their work to Counselor Margaret Chivers and will be developing videos to upload to the CSIRO GenSTEM webpage. We’re so pleased that the future of our dynamic city is in your (minds and) hands! Campbelltown City Council, NSW #soproudofthesecleverinnovations #strengththroughSTEM

14.01.2022 The winning streak continues! We are super chuffed to report that Francis (Year 10) won the first round and the semi-finals of the UN Voice NSW Public Speaking competition in a very tough field with students representing elite independent schools. He has now progressed to the Grand Finals which will be held at NSW Parliament House. The competition included writing and presenting a proposal to a global issue and a question-answer impromptu round. It was a fine moment for us... and we’re wishing Francis all the very best for his finals! In other exciting news, we’re also proud to report that Shereta (Year 9) won the first round and made it to the semi-finals of the Legacy Junior Public Speaking competition. She did really well in both her prepared and impromptu rounds; watch this girl in years to come! Here’s a super-Dooper proud Public Speaking coach Mrs Fernandes with our great achievers. Go Team SRHS! #theyvegotaneloquentcomebackforeverything #strengththroughpublicspeaking

10.01.2022 The elves (aka our SRC) are already hard at work preparing for the festive season, and you can join in on the fun... For the next few weeks, SRC representatives are on hand sell you some handmade cards and candy cane combos all in the name of fundraising for the Salvation Army. They’ll even deliver your messages of joy and cheer! Find them outside Block 1 during lunch breaks; they’re looking fabulously elfy. ... #alwaysroomforearlycheerthisyear #strengththroughcharity

06.01.2022 Our community enjoyed a great NAIDOC Week relishing the theme, Always Was, Always Will Be. With learning across classrooms and daily events, here’s a highlight reel... Working closely with our Aboriginal community, students engaged in art lessons; explored Acknowledgements to Country; took in a curated film collection; and, a big hit: cultural cooking classes - the kangaroo meatballs were a hit! #alwayswasalwayswillbe... #strengththroughculture See more

03.01.2022 In another exciting step forward, we finally welcomed our incoming Year 6 students on-site from our local feeder primary schools this week. Gradually meeting more of the team, they completed activities to familiarize themselves with a highschool timetable (bingo anyone?); a library scavenger hunt; and, the perennial favourite, a cooking lesson with some paddock-to-plate experiences at our veggie patch. We’re really looking forward to welcoming our entire Year 7, 2021 cohort ...for Orientation Day on Tuesday 1 December. See you all back then to meet your classmates and teachers! #classof2026 #strengththroughprimarytransition Sarah Redfern Public School Campbellfield Public School The Grange Public School Minto P & C Minto Public School
