Microchipping and registration is a once of payment and ensures your pet is set for life if they are to ever get lost. Microchips are a grain sized implant placed under your pets skin that contain a unique identification number that can be easily scanned for quick identification. ... A microchip does not register your pet! Registration is a separate procedure done through your local council. 10.01.2022 Changes are being made to the regulations surrounding the sale or giving away of dogs and cats in NSW. From the 1st of july 2019, any person who is giving away or selling dogs, cats, puppies or kittens MUST include a microchip number, breeder identification number or rehoming organisation number within the advertisement.
