20.01.2022 I love this guy for several reasons.. One being that he's a total stud muff and another being his absolute passion and dedication for not only woman empowerment but for human empowerment. If there's one person I know that can help you overcome just about any weakness and find your inner strength and abilities you never even knew you had, it's this guy Even though he still tells me I have to change my name because we're too the same.. What do you guys think?... Sara vs Saar
20.01.2022 Body Positivity After gaining 6 kilos on a five week euro trip, my boyfriend told me I was 'morbid obese'. I was 65kg, about 5 kilos more than I am now. I knew what I weighed then because I had to weigh my luggage on my Nan's scales she had in her bathroom for my flight home. I know what I weigh now because I've been using the scales during a fitness course I've been doing this year. Otherwise, I don't usually use the scales or know what I weigh. I will not be defined by nu...mbers. I didn't feel comfortable in a bikini for over a year and my self esteem was non existent. He convinced me to go on Light n Easy, train with a personal trainer three to four times a week and weigh myself almost daily ..to check my body fat percent. Which usually ended up in an argument When I started feeling sexy, stronger and confident again, he would put me down. But it was all good, because he just wanted me to 'better myself' and was only 'trying to help me'. Ten years later, he is a distant memory. I have become a pilates and fitness trainer. I feel fit and great, even with a tad of pudding added during covid I am comfortable in my own skin and I love my body. It can be really hard as a female to get to the point of no return in self love and body acceptance and awareness. To believe that you are enough and that you can achieve any goals you put your mind to. Today, I thank this particular ex boyfriend (yes, we can say it, he's a douchebag) for introducing me to the gym and weight training. I had always kept fit and been active, but had never joined a gym before. My PT was great, I learnt a lot and have maintained my fitness on another level since There is a positive in every negative and as hard as it may be, especially in today's society and online social realm, it's up to you to believe in yourself. Learn and grow from good and bad experiences, don't ever let anyone get into your head about yourself.. and dump the douchebag It's you vs you

16.01.2022 If I may throw my two cents into a very complex and convoluted subject: Domestic Violence against Women. Recently, a post has been circulating around over "if y...ou're a DV victim just send me a message asking for make up,etc etc". As with most things circulating around, this is rarely of any use to victims, and is usually the easiest way for people to feel like they're contributing without actually doing anything. As someone that spent the past few years teaching Krav Maga and self defence, working closely with women and DV victims, and has made it one of my own, and my businesses (X Fighting) focus to empower women and to help reduce harm around the subject, I can't stress enough how complicated and hard of a subject that is. It's quite clear that these times of stress, and spending longer time closed with a partner, are creating a surge of violence against women. These women will rarely reach out. If she has access to social media and the internet, she can just as easily email the police, text a friend, go to a DV services website and so on. The big issue is not that they need "code words" to help them reach out. The issue is that they need the courage to do so. That's the real fight - empowering those women to take action for their own well-being (and often, for their kids). As with many other problems, if you want to help, the best way is to be proactive. asking them to reach out won't do much. reaching out yourself, consistently, might. You have a friend that slowly vanished after she started a relationship? Sounds not herself? Stopped posting online suddenly? Send weird messages at weird times? Call. call often. text. listen. trust your gut when something feels wrong - women's intuition is one of their strongest self defence tools, and it works on many levels. Prod gently, let them open up and try and read between the lines and listen to the undertones. That's what you can do. that will make a difference. Invest in your friends, listen to them, reach out. That helps with DV, mental illness, and pretty much the majority of the issues that the quarantine is bringing up.
